I just bought Everquest for the first time. I got the EverQuest Evolution pack. I made my character a Druid Wood Elf and I took the in game tutorial and did all the lessons. But I'm STILL lost! I don't know what to do next ...I can't figure it out. The Guild Master says I have to find magical components and rusty weapons but I can't find them and she doesn't even tell me what they are even when I ask! When I try to kill a skeleton or bat they kill me cuz I hardly do any damage. I don't understand how to play no matter how hard I try and I can't find a walkthrough! The game looks CooL as hell and I want to PLAY badly! I just need to figure it out and the tutorial wasn't enough for me. :( Somebody please break this down for my SLOW mind! I would appreciate it GREATLY!! I'm itching to play this kickass game! :D

Thanks!! :)

Welcome 8)

Well, your Guild Master (wow, he's still giving out that quest! That was my first one too, like 5 years ago!) is just offering a suggestion. Despite the name, mostly EQ isnt about Quests, although there are a lot of them. They are scattered all over the world, and unfortunately even though many npc's will talk to you about them, they wont necessarily be appropriate for your level.

Anyway, first thing you need to start doing is killing some monsters! Well, maybe not monsters... to start off you'll want to stick to the Bats around Greater Faydark. When you target a mob (means a monster), you can "Consider" it by pressing C (or by noting the colour of the target box thingy.) When you are just starting out, you can usually kill mobs that are coloured blue or white. Yellow and Red ones you'll want to stay away from until you level up.

So, stick near one of the elevators and look around for some bats, and try attacking a few. If you get into trouble, run back towards the elevator where the guards are, and they'll try to save you if you are close enough. Giant wasps are also good targets, royal jelly sells for a couple of gold pieces. Also, if you see a skeleton carrying a staff, kill it! Those cracked staffs can sell for a platinum piece, as I recall.

After you get a couple more levels down, there are some newbie armour quests you can work on. I'm sure someone else here can give you a run down on those 8)

As the The Druids Grove tends to be mostly higher level discussion, you might want to check out the forums and guides at http://www.eqdruids.com

There is a lot of decent information there designed for someone just starting out.
