You know what.....i've tried as much as humanly possible to never rant about how verant has screwed druids and all....because i know other classes think we're a bunch of whiners.....

YOU KNOW WHAT I SAY NOW!? SCREW EVERYONE THAT SAYS WE DON'T HAVE A REASON TO WHINE......

I'm gonna whine and rant and be pissy all i want....cuz that whole balance thing has not been achieved....it's been worsened....

Ok verant...you said you wanted to balance priests and that wouldn't be accomplished until we had somewhat equal value in each of the three areas of soloing, grouping, and raiding.......PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW YOU'VE DONE THIS!!!!

#1. shamans still rule stat buffing and are therefore important in groups and raids...and their DoTs, pet, and such make them excellent soloers....so no problems with them...

#2. clerics were a NECESSITY in raids and groups for there healing powers and rezzes (and i may add will still have no problems getting groups or raids for these reasons)....but they had soloing problems....so to fix their soloing problems....you give them a way to do so much damage that (this is just what i've heard.....can't really prove it) they're approaching epic ranger melee damage......

#3. Druids have long been seen as soloing masters with our abilities to both quad kite and snare, root, dot kite.....so there were no problems there really....but we couldn't find groups and raids because our buffs and heals were useless in comparison to the other priests....so...to fix it....you propose a 75% cheal....not bad imo cuz it doesn't challenge the supremacy of clerics as healers but gives us raid and group usefulness...
HOWEVER....please see that we are now the worst soloers of the priest classes because quadding from the exp i've seen since the patch has been nerfed because if it's easy enough to quad you get zippo exp....and our snare, root, dot is still effective but our DoTs don't touch shaman DoTs....and the clerics....oh my the clerics....that's just crazy with their new abilities....

WRAP-UP: To "balance" us you've taken away our supremacy in soloing, and may eventually give us a heal that while improving us definitely will not allow us to replace the cleric in raids or groups if the group has the choice between a druid and a cleric....

Please join me in a hearty..."DRUIDS LOVE YOU VERANT!"
(note the sarcasm there....)

You didn't even mention their 75% slow, which can effectively turn a full-group-necessary encounter into a soloable mob for the shammy, and make it practically trivial for a group.

Well Firemynd I was just going to point out the same thing, there shamans are highly desired in a group, even if you do have a chanter, for the fact that they can 1. slow (saves cleric mana on heals) 2. very nice stackable stat and hp buffs, and 3. still decent backup healers. So can you really blame anyone for choosing a Shaman over a druid. Please, Im not one that likes to whine, but I'm right there with you on where's the balance.

I hear we have a new 90% heal coming up now. Of course it is capped at 250 hp and costs 200 mana to cast and has a 30 second cast time, but hey, it is is a 90% heal. :D

Give us a 500HP heal with 1sec cast time and 10 sec recast.
That would fit in the role of a druid and wouldnt be overpowering.

But after the kissing of cleric @#%$ they better give us the 100% CH with same xact mana/casttime/recast as cleric have without a reagent.

Wind, it doesn't matter what's inc for us since the exp/resist changes are enough to ruin anybody's day...

Based on Verants history...we can guess.

Its large. Its hard. It has no lube.

Rather then asking for healing.. why not go the opposite direction. Why not ask for some sort of Mana burn 75% of what a wizard can do?

How about asking for a 75% of a dot/slow of what a shaman can do?

I don't see why we are stuck on this healing thing.. Many other ways to upgrade for the druid class. I don't think of myself as a priest only..

Besides.. all the changes are not in, and I really.. REALLY don't want to compete for groups against clerics.

okay....in the last day i've calmed down somewhat....i refuse to let verant ruin it for me....if i want to level i'll play an alt where it takes 10 minutes to get from level 1-9....as for kendali....he's my fun in this game....i fell in love with druids from the get go when i didn't know anything about the game...and i still love my druid

True i want to be useful...but hey...i just really want to have fun and i can still do that....enjoying considerable damaging powers and an ability to actually be a good alternate healer in almost any good group.
I was most upset over the overwhelming attention given to clerics when what i had understood was that the original concern was to make druids more useful for the upcoming "raiding-based" expansion. However, i'm willing to give verant a fair chance and i would even go so far as to say i'm sorry and hope that my original post will be soon proven an overzealous reactionary statement.....

To Verant...please look at our concerns and take them into consideration, I doubt that this time it's only sour grapes about the balance issue....and it truly would prevent the type of reactionary flaming i participated in if you just gave us a little insight into your positions on the subjects...

To my fellow druids...look at why you became a druid and what has made you so zealous about defending our class's rights to equality....then realize if being a druid has made you happy....don't let anything verant does to us or other classes bring you down....I know i'm still gonna have fun with kendali (but then again...i'm lucky to have a perfect guild that would accept me any way verant decides to empower or handicapp us) and i hope that you will all still have fun too

thanks =)

I agree with some of the stuff you mentioned. The thing bothers me is, if we dont take action after a reasonable wait time for druid change patch through, we'd be screwed forever. Why should we pay and play a game that doesn't make us happy anymore? The point to play the game is to enjoy it. If the changes made make the game less enjoyable for us, there's no point to continue pay and play and make Verant walks all over us.

I've calm down a bit from the initial shock. I am willing to give Verant a fair chance. But this can really lead to a make or break point for me. 25 bucks a month, that's an extra 24 bottles of shiner bock for my boyfriend and I.

/agree

I never used to be one to agree with whining... but...

The last thing we want to be doing is just bending over and saying "well, it's not toooo bad... it's a bit of a nerf, but we'll manage..." constantly trying to find ways to justify the nerf. We shouldn't have to, and the only message VI would be receiving is "hey look, we can nerf the heck out of these people and they'll just take it!"

However, going by the heat of General Chat at the moment, I don't think that's an issue to worry about either ;)
