Oh good i can finally say something that i have wanted to say for a long time!

I am tired of hearing how DRUIDS want everything and how clerics/shamans are getting the short end of the stick. If you made a char that is either druid/shaman/cleric then you know how to play them, Yes there is areas we need to have improvements in ALL classes. and when you made your chars you made them to play them and have fun...has everyone forgot this IS a game and is here to have to FUN! instead of beating things into the ground why not we try to come up with a list of things that need to be improved in EQ with our classes in the name of fun!

:burn: :bonk: :gunfight: :box:

You got it all the other way around... we don't "want everything". We want small improvements, and clerics and shamans just seem them as a threat to their own class balance. I think you're looking at the wrong druids' replies.

Honestly i could give a damn about getting some improvements, if they happen then horray, if they don't then whatever. I like my class and i play it.

That's what I've been trying to do.

Maybe someone will listen to me now, but so far only one item out of seven has gotten any response.

It is one thing to say, "No, that is not good because of...."

And quite another to just ignore the whole post.

The classes have been accusing each other of preferential treatment since day one. Class Forum nastiness has been ongoing since EQ went live and sometimes the nastiness actually results in one class being nerfed by the infamous EQ nerf bat. THEN the fire really gets hot under some classes rears.

I am not saying druids are saying this but when i go to other boards and read they are always saying druids want everything, I know druids are wanting just small improvements hun i am not saying druids are saying this at all!

And quite another to just ignore the whole post.If one item is picked out of the post, rest assured the post has been read. Also it's quite possible that people have scrolled back to re-read your post to be sure that they have the full context (At least I usually do). Often someone has to "digest" some information and maybe in a few days you will see your idea with some tweaking by another poster. :)

If you are really excited about an idea, maybe start the post with something like... "here is one idea I think we really need to look at. Would some of you comment?"

From what I see from people posting on forums, most can only comment on one or two ideas at a time. The rest usually are just looking for a glaring hole to pick apart. But there are huge numbers of people who read and rarely post. They can, however, still think an idea posted is good or bad so don't stop sharing ideas if that's what you want to do!! :D

Blueeyedangel... the problem with druids "wanting everything" is that we have so many options for improvement... and by this I mean we are characters of many skillsets... that where one may feel that we need an improvement/change to harmony another may want an improvement in healing for CH while still another wants fast cast heal improvements, then another wants changes in wolf form. It's hard (as you can see by the "top 10" list) to get a straightforward list of a few things needing change. AND, the way people read things, if ONE player asks for a change somewhere, suddenly a reader is posting that "ALL" of that class want that change. It's just ignorance of the class and general ignorance. Don't sweat it! :)

I read Blueeyedangel's post as saying she was tired of other people saying druids want everything. I didn't get that she was saying that herself.

Yes, Galadhriel. Same here.

I think the Priest's Covenant proves Blueeyedangel's point all too well! :D

Druids will always be bashed on virtually every class board because:

1) We have a big "tool box" and many of our abilities overlap with other classes, who naturally become territorial when we propose improvements.

2) The Petition. Although Druids were in dire need of improvement at the time, other classes were very jealous that Druids were able to get a definite response from SOE.

3) The Druid class has attracted more than it's share of idiots over the years, tho this has declined drastically. The stigma remains, however.

4) Perceptions of our actual abilities are all over the map. Many folks see us as overpowered, unbalanced demi-gods (unless they're looking to fill a group spot ;) ) They hear phrases like "out-nuke a Mage" or "replace a Cleric" and make assumptions about our capabilities without really knowing the facts.

In short, the sooner you can get over what other classes think of us, the better off you are because this perception won't be changing anytime soon.
