Well... you see, they had an argument and now they've made up! All's well that ends well.

I'm not so sure if I was the deceased female if I'd want to spend the rest of my eternal life married to the man who killed me in the first place.

edited to add: and people here are up in arms about *gays* wanting to marry.

edited yet again to add: now that I think about it, I don't believe Oregon law specified whether the man and woman had to be living or not. I couldn't marry my dog, but I think legally I could marry a dead person (albeit by proxy because he might have a hard time with that whole signing the marriage certificate thing).

And as a side note, the marriage certificates in Oregon actually state that "by signing this certificate, it by no means indicates ownership of one person by the other".

I suppose that marraiges aren't always about love. There might have been a dowry involved, an already born child of the bride by the groom, nationality, inheritance issues, and various other things. Life's too complicated!

Apparently this guy figured the only way he was going to marry that chick was "over my dead body". Heh

I love this part.... "But Johannesburg’s Sowetan newspaper said family and friends wanted to remember them as a happy couple destined for a happy life together."

Um, he shot her. That doesn't sound very happy.
