So my friend, his friend, and I are thinking about making some Solstice pottery. But I swear, Iron Oxide has me pissed off. I found the one spot it spawns in Steamfont -- apparently -- but the damn thing is so rare, that POS oxide. @#%$!

Just go to the Hole. Ground spawns suck.

Another place is in Najena (sp) off the earth and fire elementals.

A friend and I were camping the fire elementals in SolA for a Magician Epic drop, he looted one and destroyed it while i was typing out /g OMG!! I almost cried. :p

HAHA iron oxides are selling for 600pp each on my server...

Everyone thinks the drop rate should be increased.

For the record, I spent two hours in Najena, killed all fire/earth elementals, and I got ONE bloody iron oxide. Most of the time they dropped nothing; sometimes they dropped a lava rock or ball of clay.

They fixed the Earth Elemental drops in Steamfont. They, however, made the Earth Elementals a triggered spawn now. No I will not share how to trigger it. Enough gimps on Karana know how already and worse, there are a slew of leeches who will sit there and track for that Elemental to pop and go kill him after I've triggered it.

All in all, I'd suggest taking a chanter and a paladin friend and solo the Hole for a few hours. Nice XP and you should get 2 or 3 iron oxides.

There's a spot not many people know of but I won't divulge of it since I might have competition for the oxides on my server. Anyway, it's not in any of the previously mentioned places.

Drop rate in Twilight Sea sucks as bad as najena, there's just more spawns to go around and the occasional bit of twink loots from the rare/named spawns.

Huh? I've seen lots of earth elementals up in SF, killed dozens of the peckers and don't see iron oxide drop. Is there a particular spawn that drops iron oxide, sounds lame enough to have been done by VI.

I've only seen Earth Elementals spawn around the mines in Steamfont..and they seem to be the ones which drop Iron Oxides (though not in copious amounts by any means).

Aidon, if I had 10 platinum for every player who swore up and down that they knew the "secret" to the South Ro ancient cyclops spawn, I'd probably have enough money to buy out the world supply of iron oxide by now. Some people just refuse to accept that events can occur randomly, and whenever they see a pattern resulting from random variation, they attribute it to some imaginary grand scheme.

There's only one real "secret" to the Steamfont gears area: kill everything that moves (which is trivial for any high level druid), and you will get a crapload of elementals. Easy enough, isn't it?

yo..., there's about 20-25 spawn points in steamfont on the ground, no im not thinking of the 8 scales, they spawn all over the 2 sprockets on a 21, or 16,hour spawn, and on the crooked pillar, on the 2 machines by the mino caves, ive seen more drop in najena, none in the hole, and a few off earth/steam elementals in Steamfont ... have fun ;)

By the way, according to the Fan Faire folks, ground spawns should soon be placed on forage tables, so dump that iron oxide sooner rather than later.
