I picked one of these up a few days ago in WoS off a trash mob and when I got it I thought the focus effect was for nukes only but I was wrong. I solo a lot so when I noticed it was working on Swarming Death I thought that was great. Thought I'd toss that out there as a decent focus effect to get. I was lucky enough to get it from a friend's group where it would have rotted or gone to a much lower level alt.

Got this item also. It's great! The description says it works on magic-based spells, so at first I was thinking all I would be using it for was the FT2 and our stun line of spells. Was VERY happy to see it working with the swarm line of our DoTs! :grin:

All the Omen Focuses work on resist base, and effect both nukes/dots

You can notice that pre-omens had a line in the focus code like "limit hitpoints(instant)" or limit duration (24). For Nukes/Dot difference.

Picked this item up the other night, and I love it.


My main DoT lineup is Swarming Death, Winged Death, Tempest Wrath, Nature's Wrath(Epic Effect, might have the name wrong), and Drones of Doom.


All magic based = The win.

Focus Effects don't affect Tempest Wrath (MM blade click) or Wrath of Nature (epic 1.0 click).

Pretty sure it does affect epic and mm blade, it works on orb of clinging death, don't see why it wouldn't work on those clickies either. I'll have to give it a try later

Spells that can't be placed in your spellbook, such as Wrath of Nature, aren't affected by focus effects.

Do you think this is "working as intended"?

It would seem to me that they simply forgot the

"4: Limit: Instant Spells only"

If so, watch for the fix/nerf.

Given that we haven't been seeing either DoT-specific or nuke-specific focus effects, I think it is working as intended. Otherwise there would be pairs of effects to get.
It won't affect the MM blade or original epic though because of this line:
Limit: Max Level(70) (lose 10% per level over cap)
There is no level that druids can scribe those spells, so the level 70 check on the focus effect will fail.

Bleh, I'm going to have to check my battle text next time... I was thinking my staff of lost rituals was still applying the damage increase...
