Been a week since I went for solo xp and to my surprise it appears that they *nerfed* the Grey again. Now, in addition, to the normal traps, they've added roaming traps. Sneaky lil suckers move around now. In a half hour, I had to egress three times from my favorite spot where I used to be able to spring the traps then play happily for a few hours without worry.

It wouldn't be so bad if I could root those darn wurm things, but of course, they are part of the immune to movement change mobs. Grrrrrrr.

I even sat there using inate camo in between rotting casts, but that didn't work either as I had to become vis to cast. It's not like I was quad kiting and training any body. I was just a happy lil druid, sitting quietly, rotting away, relaxed and escaping the real world. No more since they added those dern roaming traps.

Zones full! Nerf it!

*come back 6 months later*

WTF! People still hunt here? Theres 4 druids here now! Nerf it again!

*come back a year later*

Verant announces they will be revamping the less used zones with new ideas and drops. Grey is first on our list.

I used to solo the front 4 Golems in front of Ssra and the 3 snakes off to the right but now its harder, either someone keeps training me (If you play on The Nameless you know what winners we have) or they put those annoyting little buggers all over the damn place /sigh Now I cant get my golem jaw mask =/

Well, it's true about the roaming wurms but I was hunting there last night and didn't have a problem. None of them spawned near the temple, instead they spawn on the ridges and beyond. Also you can charm these little wurm guys..they make great pets Their rubble spitting breaks root though so you need to watch your agro.

They are charmable? woah, i never would have guessed that one

hmmm...interesting on the charm. How do they tank?

Problem is...I always snare the mobs I charm so that when it breaks(15secs later), I have time to charm again.

You do realize that this will cause a nerf to dire charm now?

Well, you can't snare or root these guys, but they are slow moving and very easy to charm. I've never had charm resisted and can always channel through them beating on me when I need to recharm. They're easy for a melee to taunt off as well if charm breaks.

Just an example, I was hunting with my druid and monk last night and had another monk friend with me. I charmed a wurm from time to time and when charm broke I could sit there and tank it until my monk got it off me..never took more than a few hits.

Edit: I'm sure it will vary on how hard/easy they are depending on your lvl, hp's, ac and cha so keep that in mind.

Yep, another friggin nerf. These roamers really suck with server lag, since they 'appear' to warp out of nowhere.

On the bright side, with repulse you can take worms down easily. Still a pain in the rump when quad kiting, but what can ya do.

The mini boulder feinds are still static I believe and can be snared/rooted anyway, so they are no prob.

NERF ? ! ? !

Come up with a better word that actually describes what happened in the zone. Nothing got watered down, or softened in this zone.

Spawn locations were changed so you actually have to run around with your eyes open now. When I saw the changes the other day, I thought this wasn't like this. This is different. I needed to rethink my strategy of what and how to attack.

Once you fail to adapt, you're a dead druid. Imagine what dungeon crawls would be like if you didn't know where the mobs were going to be.

Nerf = made something more difficult. Not only did they change the spawn points, they increased the spawn rate of the traps and added roaming traps (wurms). This means the zone has been made more difficult. Yes, one must adapt. But that doesn't mean the Grey wasn't nerfed as a zone for the soloing druid.

I had a nice comfortable lil spot I *enjoyed* rotting at, out of the way of trains. It wasn't the most efficient of spots with many light blue mobs, but it was relaxing and non stressful. Now, I have to be alert every second and frequently have to either train to the zone or egress. Thus, to me, the Grey was *nerfed* and ergo my *rant* about it. :)

If the added threats and need to adapt pleases you, that's wonderful! But don't rain on my rant! :p

Spawn locations were changed so you actually have to run around with your eyes open now.

The locations didn't change - they were random to begin with I believe. Now there are roaming traps which is much more of a pain then a stationary trap with a random spawn location.

They apparently un-rooted most traps in SoL. Traps in the grey and Ssra now appear to wander around actually follow people.

It was not a nerf. Sigh.

The May 8th patch BROKE traps. Verant addmitted that while it is an amusing idea, it was not intended to be like that and will be corrected asap.

Now what is happening is not that the traps are roaming, they are being TRAINED around the zones. A monk in Ssra actually had to train one of the Disease traps to zone and /q because it was aggro and following the raid party around.

They did? I never heard about this, do you have a link?

Thanks,
