I just started a druid yesterday and am currently lvl 4. I have only played one other character (a 48 Mage) and only for about 4 months.

My biggest question, is it worth the time and effort for the WE newbie armor, or should I focus on something else? I have no plat and no friends to help me with gear.

Is it better to fear kite or dot-kite? I like the idea of fear-dot-kiting.

Please give a n00b any help you can.

Thank you all, and may nature protect you.

The newbie quest armour is pretty good stuff, and since you're starting out with nothing, it'd probably be worth pursuing. I'd also suggest making sure you finish all the quests in the Tutorial, so that your newbie charm gets full stats.

As for fear-kiting vs. dot-kiting, I'd recommend being a melee druid as long as possible. It'll build up your defense skill so at higher levels you can take a beating when trying to heal the cleric (for a few seconds at least)

With regen, thorns and absymal equipment, I porcupine-solo'd up until around level 44 (pre Velious). With the better gear available today I'd guess you could go even higher.

Just a suggestion :)

Ok. Things have changed. I am now level 12 and a couple of rl friends have given me a buch of plat (about 50k) None of them have ever played a druid, so I need help twinking this character. I have no idea what I should go with. I would like to gear up once now and then again at 40+. Let me know what the best items are for twinking.
