this rant is about playeris who think that thier "harmless" pranks are funny.
1. one day i was hunting with friends and a mage i didnt know.
we were hunting in freeport west, taking out soem of the weaker guards(i was KOS because i nuked lucan once while he was being killed, and he died) and we got swarmed by several of the more powerful guards...we were doing ok, and then, i see the White spell aura going around me(cancel magic, bind, things like that kind), but i was being spammed, so i didnt see what the message was. so we get swarmed by a couple more guards, then its all over. i die. i load. "west freeport? huh??? "prepare to die!" bam, bam. dead. ZONE...
"prepare to die!" bam, bam. dead.Zone...and so on. i was around level 33 at the time, i was killed so many times, i was deleveled to level 22. can you imagine the anger i had when i figured out that the mage had bound me in a place he KNEW i was KOS in? i asked him, he laughed and said it was a prank!!!omg i was sooooooo pissed, i had to have one of my friends petition for me, because i wouldnt survive long enough to do so myself!thats one...
2.soem guy wants to join my fort group in loio. we were full, so he decides to go inside and pull by himslef,(h was an SK)
and so, my group just finishes an exausting pull of about 6 mobs, and he suddlnly bursts into the room, with imperial guards on his ass!!! needless to say, i died...then, i zoned back to 4p, and was immediately attacked by a recruit, helpless, i die. i yelled at him, and he said he did it on purpose. i petition, GMs dont help(what a surprise *rolls eyes*)and he had FDed while we died trying to save him!!!grrr! please post YOUR experiences...

How could the mage have bound you without being grouped with him?

Hehe, she said she was hunting with a few friends and a mage she didn't know. I gather that means grouped... :P

If that had happened to me, well... I would have been insane....

But the quick way out of that is to hit /q and then let yourself die a few more times before logging on an alt for petitioning. The mage should have received a warning of some sort, and that trainer... Well, training is not allowed (I've heard it is BAD!), so that person should have also received a warning at the least.

Ciao for now!

That is just plain cruel, and I would have /report and /petitioned until I got some response from the GMs. If they will not help, take it to your servers main GM or use the online form and nag them until they actually DO something.

The server logs might be gone by now, but from the looks of things, these aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer, so the idea that thay'd slip up and admit what they did if a GM came to mediate and work things out doesn't seem all that far-fetched.

And go on - names and server, please, so noone else needs to risk the same by unknowingly hanging around with these people.

"If they will not help, take it to your servers main GM or use the online form and nag them until they actually DO something."

This can get you in trouble, it's called harrassing the GMs and can get you suspended or banned if you do it too much. For the most part petitioning a trainer isn't fruitful unless it's being done repeatedly, I believe a GM has to witness it to take action. However, if someone admits to you that they purposely trained you, get the text on the screen use /report trainername and petition them, that admission of guilt may go a long way.

Yikes, sorry that happened to you, Laurenia.

My question is, even though you run SoL on a slow comp, why didn't you just unplug your comp or power it down? That way, it would've eventually booted you from the net and stop your death chain. Then log in a character that's nearby that's not KoS (or make a dummy char in FP) to scout the area. Once it's clear, log your char back in and haul ass outta there and rebind somewhere else ASAP. You might still die a few times, but you wouldn't have lost 11 lvls.

"This can get you in trouble, it's called harrassing the GMs"

Actually, it's called escalating the issue, and to me, it looks like that is how Verant wants it (Ref. GM and Guild faq), and that's always how I've seen things handled. /petition, get guide. Guilde can't help and refers to a GM, GM can't help, and refers to head server GM. And so on.

Then again, I play on a care bear server :)
