I'm currently a lvl 43 NE Moonkin Druid and at lvl 45 I'm going to head back into WSG to up my rep with Silverwing Sentinels to get that wonderful caster staff. I'm currently Honoured and therefore need to get Exalted. I have to say that I'm not only doing WSG for the staff but also for the PvP which I throughly enjoy.

Being a druid and a team player I'm almost always called upon to be the flag runner, so I was thinking that I would respec for a 'Flag Runner Build'. Once I get my Exalted by the time I reach lvl 50, I'll respec back to get my Moonkin luv'in.

I'd really like to see what people have to say about the below build and what they think of it.

Flag Runner Build:
Balance
5 Nature's Grasp
3 Natural Shapeshifter (allows for more shifts)
3 Imp. Ent Roots (help provide rooting support when needed)

Resto:
5 Furor
5 Nature's Grace (so that my healing isn't interupted)
2 Imp Enrage (nothing worse then waiting in bear form for your flag to be returned and not having any rage)

Feral:
5 Ferocity
5 Feral Instincts (for the imp stealth)
2 Feline Swiftness
1 Feral Charge

Total 37 Points = Lvl 45

As I lvl up past 45 I was going to just toss 2 points into Imp Bash and then whats left into Thick Hide.

I like this build because it allows me to stealth in; grab the flag; catform shift and dash out until that expires; shift to caster & NG and pop a rejuv; then travel form while allowing me to shift as many times as needed to conserve mana.

Thoughts? Comments?

One thing I haven't seen anyone post about regarding flag grabbing strategies is swiftness potions. I like to jump down from the balcony, grab, chug a swift pot, and can usually steam outta there in caster just in time to turn cheetah with a little swiftness left...if it's really loaded down on D in there, i'll just chug, shift to bear, bounce out, caster/cheetah and buh bye...

My favorite thing to do is stealth in into the flag spawning area and unstealth the corner that faces the nearest door (not the tunnel exit). As I'm shifting I drink a Swiftness Pot, grab the flag and I'm already aimed at the door, I run for it and then shift into bear form regardless of the # on Def so that my armor rating protects me from any lucky shots.

I think that swiftness pots would really complement this build as it would allow me to save my dash for later.

If its flag running potions you want invest in some free action potions, make you nearly unstoppable for 30 seconds.

A guildie just got the leatherworking recipe for swiftboots, we're wondering if the speed boost will stack with dash once we're able to use equipped items after 1.10 (epic mount speed out of flag room?)

Ive heard reports that switching forms in WSG, in 1.10, will now cause you to drop the flag. Goodbye druid flag runners...

Caydiem has confirmed that that is a bug and will be fixed, hopefully before it goes live.

From what I've heard using potions in PvP, in or out of BG's is looked upon as cheating. So I've not used them myself and cursed the opponents I've seen using them.

I'd be interested in hearing whether others fell that way. If this isn't considered cheating then I'd like to start using them. Been many times I could have used some extra speed or more health or mana

So not cheating...

Drinking a potion in the BGs is -not cheating-. I never understood the concept that people thought that this would be cheating. Firstly, is it considered cheating to have your gear enchanted or wearing armor created by a tailor or leatherworker? Secondly, potions are on a timer. If you could keep drinking them then sure, I would consider it 'questionable' but its not. Its something anyone can do if they come prepared. As an alchemist, I keep my supplies on me and create them as necessary. If I'm up against a group with a lot of warlocks and priests, I create Shadow protection potions; a lot of rouges and druids I make Catseye Elixiers; and if called upon to be the flag runner the odd Swiftness pot never hurt.
