Do I want sta and str? Does this increase my damage more in cat/bear form?

Thanks

+str will increase you damage in both bear and cat, stamina will increase your hp making you able to beat on whatever you're trying to kill longer without dying.

My feral gear is all +stam, +stren, and some +agility. In my feral gear in cat I've got some 3500 hp and in bear over 5K. As I get some better PvP gear ( and maybe some other good gear ) I hope to get over 7K hp and 10K armor :)

For me it goes in this order of importance:

AC
STR
STAM
AGI
INT
SPI

Thanks for the reply. This has helped with my feral build. Im lvl 38 btw. With your advise and some tinkering with armor sets, my cat form has a attack power of over 500 now. And it increases with the more +str stuff you have in my testing.
Thanks again,

I am feral but I keep two sets, just in case someone sees a druid and points yelling "HEALER! Grab him!".

Feral gear:
Mixture of both tiger (agi/str) and monkey (agi/sta) .

Strength - Increases your attack power which benefits both cat and bear.
Agility - You will dodge and crit more. The crits are noticible. When I am wearing my healing gear (which I will list below) I crit noticably less often.

Once you can get high enough in levels a wolfhead helm is so nice.

Healing gear:
Mixture of Int(mana pool) and Spirit(regen) . This gear is "Owl". I went this route on a suggestion from an elder druid. My first thoughts for getting gear for healing occasions was "Eagle" (int/sta). If someone here at the grove has some input on this, that would be great.

Zar, I know you were just asking about feral, but I wanted to include the heal gear for you as well since it's often as druids we are asked to heal...AND...having the increased int and spirit (and a few +healing items) can make a noticable difference in your efficiency.

I prefer Eagle gear over Owl...the stam is in dire need when you go with higher int since you tend to sacrifice AC on lower lvl items that have int.

Then again, I've gotta helluva hybrid combination suit that I wear lol - that'll only last until i hit rank 10 in pvp or get some good drops in future raids.

But remember to not think too much agility over strength:
Hit low, crit low.

Leveling up through the early 50's resto specced, my priority statwise was Int/Sta/Spi. Mainly "Eagle" gear, with some pieces of "Owl" so that Spi didn't lag to far behind Sta.

I would say: Agi > Str > Sta for groups for me (I DPS more than tank). For PvP is is Agi > Sta > Str and AC. Solo, Str > Agi > Sta and AC

I put Agi over Str because Sometimes I end up tanking in cat form (bad tanks ftl) so I like to have a high dodge.

Being a feral druid can be tough because you can make an arguement for almost every stat as the most important based on situation and what you want to do in Feral. AC/Sta for tanking, I'd say Str for PvE feral, and Agi/Sta for PvP Feral.

I'm a level 60 R8 (should be R9 on the next update) and was feral all the way from 30 to 60. From my own experience, Str and Sta help more than any of the others for lasting longer and puting out more consistant damage (Str gives twice the direct atk power bonus as Agi)

PvP is a drain on getting your own stat balance. Str improves overall DPS, Agi helps out the crit rate (mine is about 26% unbuffed in Cat atm) also note that in cat form Agility gives an additional Atk Power boost. Sta makes you last longer, and Int also comes into heavy play so you can shapeshift, moonfire, and heal more.

What it comes down to is finding items that give you 3 of the 4 and finding your own balance of those 4 stats. I do a lot of BGs with a couple friends, so I have someone healing me most of the time, and don't worry about sta and int as much as str and agi so i can pump out as much DPS as possible. Someone that does more dueling type PvP will want more Sta and Int to outlast an opponent. It all comes down to your own playstyle and what you feel comfortable with.

I stayed feral until level 58, mostly because I found feral to be the easiest to level with. Once I got closer to 60 I was having trouble getting into instance runs, and had to make the switch to resto spec. Here's what I found to be most hepful for gear:

Feral Spec: If you plan on going mostly cat form, I would suggest putting +agi gear at the highest priority, then +stam, followed by +str. Since cat form gives the bonus of attack power from agi, you'll be not only hitting harder, but dodging and critting more often. At level 58 I had a 25% crit chance and over 700 attack power in cat form unbuffed, with no enchants, and hardly any of my gear was bought. Durring instance runs I was doing better DPS than most rogues and mages I partied with.

If you plan on going bear form, on the other hand, +str and +stam gear should be your main priority, and then +agi gear. Since you get Frenzied Regeneration for bear form eventually, stam isn't as important to you as it is to warriors. Also, if you put the right points in your talent tree, a higher crit rate should generate much more rage for you, so +agi gear is great for that (and since Frenzied Regeneration uses your rage to heal you, you want to be able to create rage fast).

It is a delicate balance that you really have to play around with before you can find what works best for you.

Resto Spec: If you decide to make the switch to resto spec, or just want to keep around a set of healing gear, here's what I suggest. +Int gear should be your main priority, since it not only adds to your mana pool, but also increases your spell crit chance. Since you have the ability to heal yourself, stam isn't as important as it is to mages and warlocks. +Int gear will also help you to get skill points up faster (not that that's a huge thing you should be thinking about).

+Spirit gear, on the other hand, has some tricky rules. It is used when calculating how fast you regenerate mana and health. The problem is, regeneration doesn't continue while you are casting, or immediately after casting. When you're casting often you won't get a chance to start regenerating much of anything. A huge amount of +spirit gear will give you a noticible difference in the rate at which you regenerate, but the more you put in spirit, the less you usually have to put into int and stam (again, a delicate balance you have to find for yourself, depending on how you play).

Once you get to the bottom of your Resto tree and get Innervate (increases your regeneration rate, usually enough to give you a full bar of mana) spirit may seem of more importance, and you may have to sacrifice int to be a more efficient caster. Remember, a huge mana pool does you no good if it's empty and you can't regenerate.

I haven't had a chance to try the Balance spec yet, but this doesn't seem the place to be discussing that anyway. Best of luck to you!

U want a balance of stats for feral. I have done it both ways on the str and agil thing.

Str - Will give u the greatest bang for the buck in raw ap

agil - Gives u 1 to 1 ap. Also helps with dodge, crit and AC

Sta - If u run out of the red stuff u dead !! So need to keep it up a bit.

int - Its more important then some think for the feral druid. U will need mana for heal floping till your gear gets to the point that u can beat stuff straight up. For pvp/wsg i like to keep around 5k mana on tap.

Next thing that some over look is ac. A higher ac in say cat/caster form(2500+) will really help in the farming.

Feral druids have it rough in the equipment department!! Its why some of us get stuck with like 40 items that we swapping out all the time depending on what we are fighting.
