Well my guild is now on it's 3rd week of trying to enter BWL and we're shoing progress as we've gotten down to 4 eggs left on Razorgore. What my post is about is asking what some of you other druids do out there to increase your survivability?

We break down into 4 control groups and stand in corners. Our druids sleep the dragonkin when it's up and when we have them available, which is almost always. When we have one slept, we cast regrowths on the kiters as they pass by us. I personally use rank 6 or 7 regrowth to help with mana conserve and avoid as much aggro as can. My problem is that I get ganked by dragonkin pretty early in the fight. Say a couple 2 to 3 minutes into the fight and I try to go Bear form and drag them to the kiters, but I usually die real quick.

What are some of the things I can look at to reduce my aggro from the Dragonkin? That's usually what's ganging up on me and dropping me within a snap of a finger. What works better for some of you guys?

Don't use regrowth, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much aggro. Only use rejuv.

I only sleep something on Razor if I see it hitting someone it shouldn't be. Stay minimal on kiter healing unless they're in trouble. I usually drop like, HT4/Rejuv4 to keep from getting something's attention. Don't hesitate to shift and kite for a bit yourself if necc. I kite opposite the direction the warriors are so that I pass over them and they get the mob back with demoshout/piercinghowl

Put on your armor gear.. you WILL get aggro. =)

I pretty much count on that I will die at least once at razorgore.. if sh!t happens.. just get yourself some fat aggro and start kiting yourself. =)

and oh yea.. hibernate a dragon once in a while also =)

Oh.. and never use regrowth in ANY PvE unless it's panic. It's a sh!tty heal-per-mana tradeoff.

hmm, for my guild, we place the druids on standby in each corner. we don't top people off, and we only heal the kiters when they're at half health or less. shamans can heal and drop earthbind totems, and priests can heal and fade, so they do the work. we're backup, in case things turn for the worse. if things are bad, we jump in to heal, and start kiting whatever is on us, while depending on the earthbinds, piercing howls to slow things down until the eggs are down. the fight is definitely not druid friendly, so it's better to keep us alive until phase 2.

Use very low level heals. Rank 4 of regrowth and HT are your best bets. Anything else and you're an aggro machine.

Also, I don't know how your groups are set, but it works well to have a mage, hunter, rogue, and pally in the control groups with you. That way they can pull aggro and heal if needed.

Alrighty, rank 4 tops and use rejuvs :) I have been kiting when I get aggro, but like I said it's usually an angry mob that ganks me quick. I'll try these tricks and see let you all know the results. Thanks for the tips :)

Last thing I could recommend is setting up a macro that informs the raid you have aggro. In heated fights it's too dangerous to stop and type. I really like the way a druid can shift to bear to weather some hits until the aggro is pulled away. While your waiting for the aggro to be taken, just bash for a stun or barkskin & sleep (hope there are no dots on). Make a sleep macro that informs the raid of what your sleeping. Just don't forget about barkskin. This is one of my favorite druid skills.

Since the Totem, um, "changes" in 1.10, we've gone to the corner dps strategy as well. Dealing with dragonkin is same as it always was:

1. Druids sleep the first X
2. Hunters pick up the next X
3. Warlocks fear the next X

If you don't have about 14 of these classes in some mix, you're kind of screwed. Since the retooling of the encounter back in, oh Novemeber, the room maxes out at around 14 dragonkin.

The trick with phase 1 razorgore is to heal as little as possible. Granted, the corner dps strat (kill all orcs) is more heal taxing than running the earthbind highway during high lag. Still, your Hunters who are kiting shouldn't be needing that many heals. Just a rejuv and renew here and there. You should be casting a lot more heals on warriors/rogues/mages than on hunters.

We use the corner dps method also. I put on a mixture of fr/ac/mana gear. I shoot for around 7k mana(feral)- 150+ fr.

I sleep the first ones that i see on my corner. After that i expect the kiter to pick them up. If not ill resleep or if i have agro i start kiting.

Thanks to the people who contributed to this thread. The info was pretty spot on and helped me a ton when I stepped into BWL for the first time. Razorgore took a dirtnap last night and Vael was rather interesting lol....blowing up is not cool!

Get ready to start wiping...a lot. You'll be able to run from TP back to BWL in your sleep.
