View Full Forums : Question on 're-birth'

Forgive me this silly question, but I just wanted to check something:

Can re-birth be cast to a player before they die, ready for them to accept when they are dead?

I'll give a scenario..... it's 'instance time'... things are dire and the wipe looks like it's imminent and my druid is probably gonna die before the pally. Could I throw him re-birth before I get killed even though he's not dead? The idea being for him to 'accept' it once everything has settled and the mobs left us alone?

Also, if I throw a player re-birth and they decline it... is there still a 30 minute cooldown?

I appreciate your help in clarifying this for me :)

Nope, for case 1, find yourself a warlock =). The cooldown is triggered if the spell finishes casting on a corpse whetheror not the res is accepted(which is why I usually send a tell if there's time and make sure the target didn't go AFK as soon as they died.)

Thanks for the reply Balzinn,

You've saved me wasting re-birth there :)

For the strategy you were aiming for, the key is to talk to the pally ahead of time and get him to throw a DI (Divine Intervention I believe) on you before you die. This will "bubble" you, and mobs will ignore you and you won't be able to do anything, but after the wipe you can remove the bubble and then rez the pally who can rez everyone else.

If its a person you run with a lot you will really want to get this routine down to save your instance progress, etc...

Hi gwmort,

Thanks for the reply and, yes, I can see how that would work.... But wouldn't the pally simply cast DI on himself? Unless there is some resrtiction on pally rezzes which would mean there would be a benefit to the druid being the one left alive over the pally.

I'm new to the game and so am not clued up on other class skills which is how come I asked the question in the first place - I didn't realise that pally's could DI.

take care

Pallies can't cast it on themselves. DI sacrifices the pally's life in order to save someone else's life. I'm not sure if its a talent tree spell or not.
