Hey!

Innervate's on the way... I NEED TO RESPEC!!! Reaching higher levels it has become more obvious to me that I cannot keep my feral build... I seem to end up as a healbot either way in PUGs :/
Gwmort has showed me a great Moonkin build who can both battle and heal, however I'm just curious.... What's the most hardcore damage moonkin build you know? List'em up m'boys!

Damage in moonkin is much more gear dependent than spec dependent.

That said, there are only three ways to increase your spell dps in moonkin:
1. Cast stronger spells; improved Moonfire, vengeance, and moonfury are the only talents to help you hear (can count improved thorns if you wish).
2. Cast faster spells (thereby doing more damage for the same amount of time); improved wrath, improved starfire, and nature's grace (again can count improved entangling roots if you wish).
3. Cast more spells (sustaining dps longer); moonglow is the key one here, but Ooc can be a big component, depending on your playstyle. Also the use of natural shapeshifter to make getting in and out of moonkin more efficient will save more mana for dps.

If you are planning on panzerkining or meleeing much you can further increase your dps with some melee/feral talents such as natural weapons (req. for OOC), furor, ferocity, brutal impact, feral charge, etc... However focusing too heavily on this side line may result in neglecting moonkin.

I think a pure balance damage build might look something like:

for more of a pure nuker I would drop the natural weapons and ooc and max out improved starfire

You can't match feral and oomkin effectevly in competative PvP. Our owl in my guild tried that but he always falled back on da moonkins skillz in the end. Nowdays he goes all out moonkin (with cloth) and hopes that I will save him if **** happens. :D

Still.. gotta love oomkin MF-spam.. saved me several times. "Oh my god, I'm gonna die now.." I thought several times in BG's.. but seconds later my target is flooded with insane MF spam and I get healed. Gotta love moonkins! <3

I would agree in PvP range is far superior to melee, the fights just go too quick to wait for Ooc procs and the like to make a difference, but in PvE meleeing can make a big improvement on your overall dps and mana conservation equating to higher dpm.

Why do you feal you cannot keep your feral build? especially with 1.11 on the horizon it should be alot easyer for you TO keep it. Are you looking at it from a PvP stance or a PVE stance? OOMkins are nice PvP but so are Feral druids heck Restos are pretty bad arsed in PvP too, in PvE 5/10 man stuff it really doesnt matter what your build is every build has something that helps out our healing though resto has quite a few more tricks you just need to learn what works for you and for 20/40 man raids... have your raid leader put you in the rogue group 1 time... just once your rogues will love you forever and beg for you from that point on, heck i usually end up in the top 25 for dps though my highest has been 20 to date but i gots a plan to get up more... im going to get the mages and locs drunk before the next raid!

Every type of Druid has its place and we reguarly have Feral and Balance druids raiding with us because they not only add to the raid DPS themselves but also increases thier groups DPS, allowing the raids to get threw the trash faster and get to the phat lewtz!

Bottom line, Dont respec unless YOU want to, show your raid leader what you can bring to the table as a feral/balance druid but dont think you HAVE to respec at 60 to get the job done

I love this page! You guys are like the Druid Oracle. Thanks!

This is the talent tree I've been following til now http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/druids/talents.html?0000000000000000550100130322215055550 0000010000
It's been good to me this far. Now I am 53 and putting the last talents in the resto tree... Give me your thoughts.

I would move the 5 points from improved Mark to Tranquil spirit, and the 5 points from feral aggression to 2 points in feline swiftness, 2 points improved shred, and 1 point feral instinct.

A piece of advice... remember that all ranks of starfire get the same bonus from +dam gear. Let's say you have 400 +dam (yes, that's a lot, but not unattainable). You've got Moonfury, Moonglov, and Imp Starfire. I'm not including Nature's Grace in the maths, it's a bit messy. I'm not including crits either, but it doesn't change anything.

Spamming rank 7 starfires (the book drop) all the time will deal average of 1034 damage every 3 seconds. That's 345 dps. 3.38 damage per point of mana.

Spamming rank 6 starfires all the time will deal average of 974 damage every 3 seconds. That's 325 dps. 3.44 damage per point of mana.

Spamming rank 5 starfires all the time will deal average of 875 damage every 3 seconds. That's 292 dps. 3.53 damage per point of mana.

The exact same applies to Wrath's as well.

My point... if you're balance-dps'ing in a group and got trouble running out of mana, consider stepping down a rank or two in your primary nuke. If you do 300 dps for 1 minute and then go oom, you do overall less dps than if you'd done 200 dps for 2 minutes. Damage isn't all about dps, it's also about how long you can keep it up.

The only thing when u drop ur damage from 7-6 is that u just lose some dps and to me it kinda hard droping it that low. one thing that helps u do good dps and damage is + mana gear
usaly i have around 44/5 or 22/5. so im not totaly worried about going oom and with starfire slow cast u can mostly not run out of mana every fight in a group
