I don't want to ask on the Blizzard forums because I don't want to get hit with the nerf stick. ;)

Last night we put 3 trees and 2 priests in one group for Naxxramas, and all 3 of our tree of life buffs were stacking. Rejuvs were hitting people at 800+/tick, and Priest renews were doing about the same. It was insane.

Is this intended?

I am sure it was not intended and will be fixed for the expansion. Anyone in the beta able to check if it has been fixed there?

In the latest beta the Tree Aura has changed from healing done by to healing done to ( have not tested stacking yet ). This ends up acting like a pally blessing of light ( though it works for all healing )

Oh noes! Well, we have our Blessing of Light equivalent then. Shucks, and I was looking forward to having a bunch of trees upping my healing power too.

*sigh*, this aura was awesome. I have about +350 healing, and with just 2 trees, my +healing goes up to 500ish.

Here's a post I made on the WOW druid forum about it:
____________
Blizzard (in Sony fashion) discovered a bug with tree form...multiple druids in the same group had stacking auras, which is obviously overpowered. So do they correct it so that the auras simply don't stack? NOPE.

They fixed it by making the following change:

Old Tree Form Text (currently on live):
"in this form you increase healing by 25% of your total spirit for all party members within 45 yards"

New Tree Form Text (on beta):
"in this form you increase healing received by 25% of your total spirit for all party members within 45 yards:

Net effect: To benefit the whole raid there would have to be a druid in every single group now instead of just in the healer groups. Not a huge nerf, but definately pigeonholing us back into healers instead of hybrids.

Blue, any plans on changing this back and removing the stackable auras? Paladins auras don't stack so I know you can code it.
____________

There is an underlying significance here which you might not be considering. With the old aura you only needed one or two trees in a raid to get maximum benefit (one in each healer group). With the new change you'll have to have a tree in each group (5+) to get maximum benefit. This has the potential to pigeonhole us back into heavy resto spec's like the old innervate did.

It's not as big of an issue as the old innervate was, nor is the new tree aura a huge nerf, but the old way (with non stacking auras) was definately preferable.

Thoughts?

I agree totally, I don't think it should be a bonus to healing received, for the reasons you said. With the way it is now (stacking or not), it's very easy to make a group or two of happy healers with trees and then put the rest of the hybrid druids in where they will most benefit the group, which means there's more freedom of specs and roles. If they change it it'll be like... "okay, every main tank group needs a tree, HAS to be a tree spec, and if we don't have 4+ tree druids we'll SUCK"... and that frankly... sucks. :( Also needing a tree druid in every tank group ultimately means there's less room in those groups for other chars that work well supporting the tanking roll, ie, prot pallies and feral tanking druids. :/ The whole idea of allowing hybrids more than one spec choice was to allow raids to mix up the groups and let those hybrids in on some action, not throw them back to the healing specs...

I dont aggree that it will pigeonhole us back into resto specs. It will be like needing warlocks with imps to buff tanks. Instead of putting 2-3 druids in healing groups, you'll put 2-3 druids in MT groups.

It is a nerf, but its not huge. Honestly there are always at least part of the raid that doesnt need nearly as much healing to keep them up as other parts of the raid. You just put the tree's with the class's that need more healing.

You guys have fun with your tree's though. My druid is my alt, and will stay feral spec. If my guild doesnt like it i'll just raid with my hunter.
