After the nerf I was expecting my feral forms to be terrible, but is far from that, I ust crit my 1st over 1000 (on a lvl 56 elite in BRD) and im finding my bear form is critting more, not less :)
anyone else finsing the patch to have no effect?

I have noticed the drop in bear dps however thats it. I have had no problem tanking and holding aggro and although I havent pvp'ed much lately, whenever I have it has gone well.

Personally I'm amazingly happy with the nerf. At first I was near quitting after hearing about it from the PTRs, however due to the fact that we now don't need DPS to keep aggro again like they had made it previously I'm happy. I'm the kind of guy that is fine with doing almost as much damage as the healer as long as I can tank everything.

I've noticed my bear damage go down a bit but it's not too bad.

Actually am quite happy about it and now people are not whining and complaining about us.

Ran Heroic Ramparts and Slave Pens yesterday both with a druid tank and me main healing. While he didn't do as much damage as pre-nerf he did do a significant amount. The nerf to swipe has hurt, maks keeping aggro on a number of mobs quite a bit more difficult and I died a few times....ok a lot, but damn it, when regrowth crits is generates a ton of aggro ( even with talents to reduce threat ).

I haven't noticed any difficulty in regards to holding aggro. Multiple targets now simply require me to change target and mangle etc instead of just sitting spamming swipe.

The DPS decrease in bear was needed IMO. Things just didn't feel right when it was optimal for me to solo 3 targets with swipe in bear form for maximum efficiency, and I often came out with more HP then i went in with.

All in all i think it's a good thing. It should stop some of the crying by the "other tanking classes" while not diminishing our capacity to tank.

Not quite to Heroics, but last night I tanked The Mechanar and the Bontanica back to back and had a jolly time. It feels pretty much to the same as prenerf, with less DPS.

Yeah, I want my ezmode Swipe back sometimes.. but.. this is workable.

The nerf to pve was two fold.

First off for those that played beta - druids tanking hits a brick wall at 70.

Itemization is moreso the issue then not. We have no tanking sets for tier 4 or 5 while warriors really begin to take off at this stage. So the nerf hit us doubly as hard as people more then people realize.

We were already going to be out scaled once we got to this stage in game now add the new nerfs into that and it becomes more bleak.

As far as pvp goes. Feral is quite useless now unfortunately. Bear is nothing more then a damage sponge. We tried that version of bear for two years prior to tbc - it didn't work then and it will not work now.

Cat form while fun to play in isn't viable either. Sure it's dps potential is decent but it lacks any survivability or versatility to make it usefull.

Atm if you like to pvp you are better going either moonkin if you want to do some type of dps or resto if you want to heal. Feral atm has no place in pvp be it solo or in groups.

So my opinions:
1) I absolutely love post-2.0.10 lacerate. It provides a small amount of high threat damage instantly... this helps on bleed-immune mobs, plus it can crit and give you 5 rage.

2) Damage was nerfed, but so what... we're tanking here, not dpsing. We want threat, and they didn't nerf that. I agree about swipe not being ez-mode any more... You're dpsers need to be a bit more focused (they should anyways).

3) PvP - When I look at other classes talent trees, they have 2 viable PvE trees and one tree which screams PvP. Look at the rogues subtlety tree. It has tons of talents which makes you great while stealthed... you're stealthed very little in pve at the start of the battle... oh and the 41pt talent is bloody amazing in pvp and meh in pve. (I bring them up because I'm leveling a rogue alt =).

This class isn't alone... Hunter's survival tree was this was pre-2.0... don't know now.

Expecting one tree to allow us to dps in cat form, tank in bear form, and own in pvp is asking too much. Moonkin is now our PvP tree. While moonkin are great in PvE, they lack a few key talents which make them great... aggro reduction talents are key in PvE raids. All spell casting classes get it except us... but we can BOOM all we want in PvP. Oh and look at feral in PvP...

So all in all, I'm quite happy post-2.0.10 (note, I don't call it a nerf).

Oh and a blue posted they were looking at fixing our teir 4/5 armor sets to allow tanking in end game. It didn't make it into 2.0.10, but would make it into 2.1

Same here, don't think nerf was bad, think some just got used to the power we had and can't adjust to the changes. But that what I see druids player are, players able to "change" in to fill our needs. Threat is awesome and with my guild short on Tanks, (yes alot have gone fury because of druids feral and loving it) I got asked to make the switch to feral tank. Have been told runs much smoother with our druids. And honestly, we keep reading this forum for tips from all the regular poster (THANKS ALL).
And yes, a talent tree that lets us go both Bear/Cat in a pinch is just over-powering to me but not complaining. LOL

Peace~

Well, it matters not what you call it, it still was a nerf any way you look at it.

Overall, we're still fine in PvE; definately having it better than most classes. Feral is now even less viable in PvP, and it was kinda mediocre before. Of course, if I'm in a bg, I'm usually just running the flag anyway; not wasting too much time actually fighting other people.

Hmm, not sure what planet most of you are on, but I still take stuff apart in PvP...same as I did pre BC. Maybe its just sucky groups you get into. I know if the bg is fuill of idiots I die a lot more often, but if they half way know what they're doing I usuually am in the top for HK and not far in KB.
