Anyone care to discuss favorite (or least favorite)
pre-Outlands questing regions?

I really enjoyed Darkshire, Duskwood. I have friends who complained it was too dark, but, I found that the majority of quests were quite straight forward, and I leveled rather easily.

Did not like Ashenvale all that much. I simply could not get into the groove of those quests. So I moved on to Stonetalon Mountains, which I found did not improve matters much.

For Herbalism opportunities, I LOVE the Swamp of Sorrows.

I have leveled atleast 8 druids above 30, and I have yet to do anything pasted the first few quests in Ashenvale. I just dont care for that area and quests at all.

Duskwood still remains my favorite zone/quest area...the feel and quests are fantastic, love it.

I agree, Duskwood is my favorite area. I tried doing Wetlands quests on an alt but hated it.

Darkshore and Duskwood are great.

But I also really like Un'goro. Nice quest chains, most mobs are beasts and the feel of the area is great.
Another great area is Thousand Needles. I love the whole idea of a race track in a dried up salt lake.

Besides - of course - Ashenvale, I do not like the whole area where humans start out. Elwynn, Westfall, Redrige I simply cannot stand. Elvish areas have a nice quality to them, but the human ones are just bland.

All you NElfs! =x hehe

I absolutely loved the Barrens tbh. People give it such crap for the repetitive quests (there's one questline like it..) and the terrible General chat, but I find it added to my enjoyment.

My second favorite zone is STV. Great quests, great zone, PvP and ganking...what's not to love ;D

STV is the sh!t! All the ganking around makes levelling fun and exciting. :) And the place is totally swamped with quests.

See I really liked Ashenvale. Ashenvale and Duskwood are deeply linked if you follow the story line. Some uppity NE actually caused all the pain in Duskwood. It was a NE from Ashenvale that unleashed the Worgen in the woods. It was a very cool story line that I followed all the way back to Duskwood (which made it even cooler because I knew all the quests in Duskwood.)

Blizzard does a phenomenal job of providing an entire story spread across multiple zones. I've found lots links from zones across the world which give a very deep story. I liked the touches from the Stalven quest line where you learn that the Defias were really not all that bad, they just got screwed and decided enough was enough.

The Barrens is great. Crossroads and Camp "T" are both centrally located, the bank at Ratchet with flight paths at each location makes it very convenient.
There is good progression, many varied types of mobs, lots and lots of mobs, the entire buff thing at camp "T" is an added bonus. Lots of skinables, herbs, minerals and different materials makes it a low level paradise.

An alt is in STV now and I hate the running from Booty Bay to the top of the zone all the time.
Duskwood is also loads and loads of running back n forth. I'm not a big fan of 5-10 minute runs each way a few times a day.
In Outlands, Nagrand has the best layout, convenience, quest line, progression and diversity that I have seen yet, IMO. Plus, Nagrand is so nice, I want property there to move to.

Why do the developers either make a zone burned out or a dense jungle? Nagrand is nice in that it has some trees, some burned out areas but lots and lots of open grassland vistas. Molgor, the Tauren starting zones are like that, very beautifull and nice quest lines.

If I want to see loads of burned-out and ruined areas, I'll move to a slum. As it is now, people like to go to the country for a break in their tedium and country folk go to the city to re-affirm why they choose to live in the country.

WOW! Thanks for all the response.

I completely agree with the comments on Stranglethorn Vale. I liked the area - once I got into the groove of it. And, NEVER had a problem finding groups to complete quests.

Gotta say though, Booty Bay annoys me with it's set-up. Took me forever to find the Gryph Master who, for some reason, is hidden away...

And, as a side note...

In a perfect WOW World, there would be a Gryph Master located at the Rebel Camp or the Expedition Site in Stranglethorn......because, grrrrrr yes! that's a long long walk! Even with a Mount.

Hrrm... Duskwood, Un'guro, Winterpsring, Zangarmarsh, and Nagrand are probably my favorites overall. Duskwood's creepy atmosphere is nice, plus I also enjoy the quests, Un'guro is nice and green (I like green), plus has tons of good quests. Winterspring is just awesome, that's probably my favorite place pre-BC, it's like you get there outta the cave and it's just a breath of fresh air. I love the snow, and since you don't see it except outside of IF, by the time you hit 50-some, it's just refreshing to see snow again. Zangarmarsh and Nagrand were really well-designed quest-wise and atmosphere wise, I love both areas. Oh, Feralas is nice too, I think the zone's so beautiful.

I also like the Thousand Needles goblin racer hub, I always try and quest there, it's a lovely chunk of exp for quests that are easy.

I like the barrens, the look of the place, but honestly after playing a horde char to 20-some and still not leaving the barrens I was a bit tired of the place, maybe I just got too used to the alliance cities at that point, I wanted a change of pace in the worst way but wasn't sure where to go (horde inexperience showing there, oh noes *ducks* :D).

Ashenvale I used to love, but I kind of got tired of all the running, the storylines are good though. STV is pretty, granted, offers toooons of exp, but the run from top to bottom always annoys me.

I really like Zangamarsh. But then again, I have an affinity for mushrooms, so...

Pre BC, I'll agree with winterspring, ungoro and feralas for sure. I will always have a special place in my memory for all the running around and wasting time learning how to play a druid in Ashenvale. Everything was so much different then. Lvling my warlock I had a great time in the Barrens.

The quest that I hated the most was the one in Wetlands where you had to kill those murlocs by the sunken boats off the coast. I will forever hate murlocs because of that damn quest.

I liked Un'Goro myself....being a skinner it gave me lots of time to skill up and gather.

Plus the sounds just are awesome...especially when a Devilsaur starts to creep up on you!

I agree STV is a great place to experience and mature...
I am currently questing in Felwood and its great to solo especially for a full resto druid.

Makes me think they made it so for a reason. :D

I mean.. most people are 30ish when they reach STV. 30 is a good level to be bored of questing and start the PvP experience.

Ofc there are PvE servers.. I never understood why anyone would miss out of the PvP-aspect of WoW. :p

I forgot another favorite, remembred it when I was leveling my pally there the other day... hinterlands! I'm not sure why I like the place exactly, but I always have. It seems like it's one of those underappreciated maps, but I've always liked the quests there, and it's pretty.

Well in my server, a lot of the quests in Darkshore and Ashenvale were bugged, so it was really frustrating. Plus the quests are stacking up, it's so hard to keep up, lol.

Questing in Un'Goro Crater now...and I LOVE IT - How fun!

STV ftw ... mass pvp - ganking and nice quests -> love it

loved also BRD.
3 friends (shadowpriest, warlock, rogue) + 1 random holy priest + me
went throug it in about 5-6 hours.
whiped only once -> it was a hell lot of fun! (except the room with the torges...hell difficult cause of fast spawns and no mage with us)

i just loved moments like:
Rogue: "I'll go and sap the left one" -> "wtf he sees me" -> "ahhh aggro"
Me: "Next time stealth before going sapping!"
Rogue: "Oh, oops!"

or

Priest: "Ok. Let's go on the boss!"
Me: "Yeah im going to pull him" -> Fearie Fire pull
Priest: "GET OUT OF CAT AND INTO BEAR!!!!!!"
Me: "huh?? wtf" -> panic -> bearform -> "puh :D"

Un'goro's nice. great for grinding too. Love that place. Also, I love the Feralas ones, great for those who are herbalists...Feralas and Tanaris are just great for grinding.

For quests, Darkshore was a good one for me. Ashenvale was OK.
