I haven't seen that, but there has to be some sort of money sink, I just don't know what it is yet.

We all baulked at the 5000g cost of flying mounts when we first heard about it prior to the launch of TBC. In the end it wasn't impossible, this won't be either. Mobs will be dropping a lot more money, remember.. :>

I think the "grand caravan mammoth" thing was 15k... but I surely hope that isn't a flying mount! I don't pay much attention to the details though, because they're still tweaking everything so much.

Flying in Northrend is a level 77 quest.

Yup. Small chain bombing quest, I believe. No panic necessary. ;)

I finally have almost enough to start the epic flight form quest. I am currently at 4500gold. It did feel impossible a few months ago though. I have been doing dailys on both my druid and my alt hunter.

15K for grand caravan mammoth! Wow. Is that the one that can carry other people? How fast is it?

I'm just a bit ahead of you Mavin: I finished grinding out my 5k, bought my epic flyer then completed the swift flight form quests up to the end - now this weekend my guild's gonna do Heroic Sethekk Halls so 2-3 of us can get our fast birds.

I just read up on the mammoth yesterday: Giant Caravan Mammoth (http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?item=44235)
From the tooltip:
Reins of the Grand Caravan Mammoth
Binds when picked up
Races: Human, Dwarf, Night Elf, Gnome, Draenei
Requires Level 60
Requires Riding (150)
Use: Teaches you how to summon this mount. This is a very fast three-person mount that carries vendors.

I'd guess that the 'very fast' part means it will be standard epic mount speed, and yes, there is a separate Horde version for some reason.

WOOT! Just got my 5K gold and started the swift flight form quest line today! I dragged some gold I forgot about from two alts and sold Ace of Storms for 350 gold on the auction house.

THREE STEPS TO EXTREME JOY™

1. Collect 2 non-druid passengers.
2. Drive off a cliff.
3. Shift to bird form and wave :>

Well, if Tigole posted it, it's probably true. That's a bummer.

This might be the first time I've ever been mad at Blizzard. We'll charge you 1000g to use a mount you already bought months ago because it was too hard for people to find the quest giver? WTF?

Haven't they heard of wowhead? Or maybe guild mates? Or general chat? LFG? trade? I think if you wanted your flying mount back you'd find quest chain.

Now that I think about it....it wasn't exactly easy to find the flying mount trainer in BC? Especially since most (all??) players were lvl 70 well before they ever stepped foot in SMV. How did we ever do it? Though, later they did add a "I don't talk to anyone and have no friends" quest giver in Shat to direct you to SMV for your mount.

Other classes aren't like Druids. If a warrior doesn't know something, rather than ask another warrior or be seen looking it up, they'll damn well pretend they do know! in order to look Manly. :p

I'm pretty sure they have a built in feature that they can use to send information to people... oh yeah, that's right the mail system. I know they've sent quest bits in the mail in the past... why not once you hit 77 you get a mail telling you where to go? *slap blizzard for making this a money sink*
