I went to the WOW website, registered, put in the key they gave me, gave them all my info, and started the DL of the client from them but canceled the download and went to Fileplanet to do that. It's going faster. How can i be sure I'm in? or will be able to play once my client is done downloading tomorrow? Thanks for any replies.

you'll be able to play once the client is downloaded, you should have received an email with a cd-key, as long as you have used that to create an account on the wow website, you're in.

I didn't receive an email yet. When I was on the WoW website starting my account, it had an account key there I had to put in, before selecting my username and password. Is that the key you are talking about?

I hope they dont' ask for it again when I first try to log in because I didn't write it down.

Go sign up at www.worldofwarcraft.com even if you dont remember your key they give you a generic one to use at the top of the screen. That the only time you should ever be asked for your key by anyone.

The open beta through blizzard is done differently than the previous betas or the fp open beta. If you created your account directly on the WoW site rather than through File Planet you will not recieve an email nor need to use the account key later on. The account creation page has a general account key and verification process and once you have completed all steps of the process and gotten to the download page you are set. It won't matter where you actually download the client as long as you recieved the account created confirmation on the blizzard site.
