Since my 10 day trial is over and I'm attempting to wait patiently for Christmas day, I figured I would start a UI Modification thread. I never got a chance to try any of them out but here are all the ones I know about.

CT Mod (http://wow.warcraftstrategy.com/ctmod/) This one lets you add additional hotbars like the others but also has map notes.

Gypsy mod (http://gypsymod.the-mad.net/) Seems to have the most organized active development.

Cosmos (http://www.cosmosui.org/) This one appears to be the most popular. Some complain about "bloat". Thotbot functionality built in is a plus.

It can all be pretty confusing. At least to me. People are making their own complitation of add ons and posting them here (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.aspx?fn=wow-interface-customization) in the blizzard ui forums.

Does anyone have any recommendations or others to add?

I've coded and am maintaining one. It doesn't have a menu system though so turning features on/off is a matter of adding/removing the requisite folders or in the case of telo's clock, downloading the right one for your time offset or editing the lua file. When i've got a menu done i will make it publicly available, right now it's just being tested by my guild.

I'm currently using Gypsy mod. I like it so far. If you haven't tried one yet because you are intimidated by the process, don't be, its fairly simple. I also have mapnotes, quickloot, and bufftimers installed, any others I'm missing?

Too many "spy" things in cosmos for my liking.

I personally just bolt a few together...theres some nice seperate ones you can get like the herb collector one etc.

I ripped out most of Cosmos, just using:
ChatTimeStamps
Clock
Cosmos
ImprovedErrorFrame
ImprovedMacro
LootLink(not part of Cosmos, Telo's addon)
MonitorStatus
MooBuffMod
Sea
SecondBar
Wr(WoW Reader, Allakhazams profile)

hmm. ok, call me a heretic but after a couple of days of realizing it wasn't the eq interface, i grew to really like it just the way they made it.

Not enough hotkeys is the biggest UI complaint. HealthMonitor simply provides a more convienent way to watch health, the rest is fluff.

I got a few modular pieces that I like, nothing much

Telo's Buff Timer mod
Shardcount (to show a counter of how many soul shards my warlock has in inventory)
Fast Quest Text

I would love to get another hotkey bar, but haven't really found a stand-alone one (anyone got a link to one?). I don't want Cosmos or any other full blown UI replacement, just one more UI bar :)

Where did Fast QUest Text come from? (Assuming this removes the 5 second pause before I can accept?)

Yeah, that's what it does - I'm looking for a link now. I can't remember where I got it :)

Ok, here is the one that speeds up the quest text: QuestFade (http://home.gwi.net/~mboutin)

There's some others on that page too, but that's the one I'm using from there.

Just download Cosmos, and only extract the SecondBar folder stuff.

I didnt like secondbar really. I started using Telo's bottombar instead and it works great (had to disable PopNUI from Cosmos because of a conflict.) I also *love* Movable Bags (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-interface-customization&t=17985&p=1&tmp=1#post17985) so that you can... move your bags around! For Kerech... try the Nightfall UI Mod (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-warlock&t=24236&tmp=1#post24236) for a better visual indicator of when nightfall procs. And for my healer toons, this Mini Group Window (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-interface-customization&t=15720&p=1&tmp=1#post15720) is invaluable... gives you a group window just like EQ used to have - much better than the scattered default layout of portraits and crap. I also keep meaning to play with Flexbar (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-interface-customization&t=9932&p=1&tmp=1#post9932) which has gotten pretty cool, you can do all sorts of neat things with it apparently.

Oh, thanks for that nightfall link - I'd heard there was a mod out there, but hadn't found it yet :)
