I've noticed after I began doing the majority of my hand to hand combat in bear form that my weapon skills were not increasing as fast as my defence skills or at all. Does your weapon skill affect attack power and damage when your in an alternate form? Any clarification would be helpful.

Your weapon damage and skills are entirely seperate from your shapeshifted forms, the only things that carry over from your weapons are any +'s they give to other stats and skills etc. In sea lion and travel form your weapon damage and speed will carry over though.
