Blizzard has recently announced (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-general&t=958591) two new community managers, Eyonix and Fangtooth. The full post(s):
The community team is proud to welcome two new members! Our new online community representatives, Eyonix and Fangtooth, have been brought on to help the three community managers moderate the forums, gather information for the development team, and answer the burning questions of the day. We're excited to have them here, and I hope you'll join us in welcoming them aboard.
Hello everyone! I've been playing World of Warcraft since the initial alpha, and I'm completely up to speed on the current state of the game. As a result, my goal is to become a valuable resource for each of you, and to celebrate our new relationship, I will provide you with a emoticon of happiness. =)
Hello!

I am very excited to be a part of the World of Warcraft community! I look forward to talking to you all and seeing you in the lands of Azeroth!

more communication and community staff is always a good thing :) I don't envy them at all though... what a rough, whiney forum community they have over at WorldofWarcraft.com.

I wish they had some real info about the problems though. I don't know how many times I need to see a blue response that says "We are looking into the lag."

Problem is that just like the old Verant/EQ/SoE Boards they become Rant Central and a lot of nerfs and problems to the different classes that were un-neccessary came from boards like they have now at Blizzard - part of the reason most people came to the class specific sites is because they were able to actual talk out the problems with their peers (IE: people who play the same class). It wasn't perfect - but in this genre you really cannot expect perfection; at least in my experience. (IE: You can't make everyone happy).

Any predictions from our current community members on how much harm will come from the Current Blizzard Board to each class; anyone have any examples of nerfs that have already come from the boards; and do you feel they were necessary nerfs and why?

Also rememeber there is a difference between nerfing a class to fix a problem with the class or nerfing a class to fix a problem with a Zone or Enviroment or NCP (Mob or Type of Mob).

Right now I can't log in. The login server appears to be down. And we get the standard "We are aware, yadda, yadda"

A few days ago we were told that the errant boat between Auberdine and Menethil was the cause of some severe connection problems. They removed that boat, but today the lag on Alleria was the worst I've seen without the server going down... wait, it did go down eventually :(

Maybe the boat wasn't the problem.

Plus, now the boat from Theramore to Menethil is dropping people today... so the problem appears to be spreading :(
