Penny Arcade has posted an interview with Blizzard, mainly discussing the server issues and slowdowns.

Read the interview at Penny Arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com/news.php3?date=2005-01-24#2402).

It's nice that Blizzard is starting to provide more detailed information on the problems... hopefully they'll get them fixed soon.

That was a very good read (as always) Tycho asked the right questions.

Some new details in the information, and it's nice to see Blizzard put the answers out in a fairly clear fashion, though the interview was definitely filtered through the PR department as some of those answers seem... ambiguous enough to only have come out of marketing or sales people.

Site is slow due to the masses visiting and reading it (heck, it's been slow since they laid into Blizz), so give it a few minutes to load.

Major props to Penny-Arcade, that was a really good interview with alot more detailed answers then "we are working on it."

I however would still like to see an answer behind why they DON'T want to implement server transfer, I mean what is holding them back, that side of the story.

they DO want to implement it, they just need to get the code and planning in place... there's the issue of duplicate names, items, etc to be careful of, and controlling what servers people transfer to without blocking them from being with their friends etc. At this point, the character transfer has to be done right or it will only make things worse.
