Did anyone go with one spec ie. feral or something for leveling/solo speed then switch over to restor at 50+ for groups/raids?

I'm thinking hard about switching over from my main, 50 hunter, to my 19 druid. Too many hunters on my server so I figure I might be a little happier with a druid for groups/raids/helping guild than hunter wise. Just want to figure out a way to level quick.

I personally was restoration from the start. However, my first point was in natures grasp, followed by 10 points of restoration for MOTW and Healing focus. After that I did 10 more points in balance and got Omen of Clarity as soon as I could. The rest of my points went Restoration getting to Innervate and then filling out my heals.

Some folks swear by balance or feral for leveling, but I was fairly happy with my druid from the get go. For me it was more learning when to use which form rather than focusing on a single form or skill for leveling.

I found omen of clarity to be the first skill worth getting. You don't really need nature's focus till later on (of course considering how fast you can regen your mana you don't really need OoC till later on either i suppose... but it has a higher "cool" factor :P)

I went feral at 60 and it was awful. If you want to dabble in feral go for either 11 points or 21 points, but save yourself the agony of trying to be 31 point feral.

But to answer your question directly, from 1-59 you can do whatever you feel like with your talents and I doubt its going to make any serious difference in your leveling/questing ability. I would definitely go with omen of clarity for soloing. Get 5 points into ferocity when you can as it makes your forms a lot easier to use, but I wouldn't go too much higher into feral.

Feral charge is really a pvp skill, so is feline swiftness. The extra 1s on bash only really matters in pvp as well.

I was 31 points in feral until i respecced the other night (at level 50) to 31 in restoration... I still have points in feral, and the rest of my points are going to be directed there as well. Feral served me quite well for leveling, but at level 50 you're more often required as a healer and rarely as an off-tank. I'd love to go back to feral at some point, but the talent tree is too lackluster to be advantageous at 50+.

:) Right after i respecced of course, I ended up being main tank through maraudon, and though I still serviced as a tank well enough, it was more difficult (marginally) than when I was all feral, we didn't wipe or lose anyone during the entire run though.

Ok sounds like I'm semi doing the right thing. At 19 have Improved Mark of Wild, 4 into wrath, and Natures Grasp. Was planning on going balance to OoC so at least I had the right direction:)
At somepoint will probably switch the wrath points to the second line of Natures Grasp.

yeah. At lower levels I had 1 point nature's grasp, 1 point improved grasp, and 3 points improved wrath. At higher levels though you need 100% chance on nature's grasp for pvp... if a rogue hits you 2 or 3 times before it goes off it may be too late. But for fighting mobs usually getting hit 2 or 3 times makes no difference from getting hit once.

You'll retalent at least once, probably a lot more. For the highest effectiveness you definitely need to focus your talents in one direction for leveling, and then redo em later for pvp/raid. OoC is the best example for that, great at lower levels, not so useful at 60.
