Sorry to be the noobie noobster but I was just wondering what the best way of becoming a member of a guild is, other than bugging people in the game. Sadly all of my gaming buddies are stuck on DAOC and refuse to move !!

'sniff' all by myself and feeling lonely !!

I have managed to get to lvl14 on my own and know that things will slow right down now.

Can anyone give advice?

Cheers :banghead_

At level 14 there's not gonna be very much interest. Get at least level 20, and probably by level 30 you'll get invites just by hanging around ironforge.

Only other way is like if you group w somebody from a guild, and think they're alright, ask if you can join their guild.

Most guilds don't bother w people below lvl 30 tho, because 9/10 times those people are alt-chars, and if they're not they are extremely casual players if they only got lvl 14 in 3 months. On the off chance they just bought WoW, or came froma diff server, then that works out... but that's the exception to the rule.

Aitrus is right, once you hit 20 and start doing instances you'll make a lot of friends(as long as you don't suck and get everyone killed). Group with the same person a few times and you'll probably get a guild invite. Also, there's a bunch of guilds that will spam advertisements to join their guild in IF. If you want can always join one of them.

Actually reached lvl 14 (now 15) in 2.5 days and am a serious player so I think it would be unfair to brand all lower level chars as casual.

Have found a guild now anyway - thanks for the advice.

Just keep leveling. Ask for groups at quest centers. /1 Anyone doing X Y or Z quest? (shift click a quest name in your log to enter into the chat box). Find people you enjoy grouping with and either inquire about joining their guild or form one with them.

I would stay away from the spam invites. There are so many kinds of guilds and you will probably want to join one with the calibre of folk you want to hang with and the same gaming goals as you have. Join groups, talk to folk, make friends.. from there you find the ones you prefer to play with. Take your time. A good guild is one you can stay with for a very long time.
