Hey guys, started playing WoW last friday, so I still have to ask silly questions all the time. I'm 21, and I *think* I know the direction I want to go with my talents, but I'm not sure if it's particularly valid/efficient. I'm looking at a druid who's a decent healer, and a great tank. I'm not pumping much into balance, as I <3 melee combat, and I like the warrior aspect more than the rogue. So, 20/0/31 feral/balance/restoration is what I'm thinking of, with another possible 12/8/31 build.

Here it is:
Feral Combat Mastery
Ferocity Rank 5 - lots more
Improved Bash Rank 2
Sharpened Claws Rank 5
Improved Prowl Rank 1
Feral Charge Rank 1
Primal Fury Rank 5
Faerie Fire (Bear) Rank 1
Feral Combat Total: 20

Restoration Mastery
Improved Mark of the Wild Rank 5
Furor Rank 5
Nature's Focus Rank 5
Combat Endurance Rank 5
Reflection Rank 5
Nature's Swiftness Rank 1
Improved Regrowth Rank 4
Innervate Rank 1
Restoration Total: 31

Innervate looks very useful, in PvP, raids, and soloing. The high level feral talents don't look quite as good in comparison.

The alternative is just to get swiftshifting, though I'm not sure if it's worth dropping the 8 points out of feral:

Feral Combat Mastery
Ferocity Rank 5
Improved Bash Rank 1
Sharpened Claws Rank 5
Feral Charge Rank 1
Feral Combat Total: 12

Balance Mastery
Nature's Grasp Rank 1
Improved Nature's Grasp Rank 4
Swiftshifting Rank 3
Balance Total: 8

Restoration Mastery
Improved Mark of the Wild Rank 5
Furor Rank 5
Nature's Focus Rank 5
Combat Endurance Rank 5
Reflection Rank 5
Nature's Swiftness Rank 1
Improved Regrowth Rank 4
Innervate Rank 1
Restoration Total: 31

Thoughts? This is my first character, aside from a 17 rogue in beta, so I'm not at all familiar with mid/end game. This is just based on info from forums and my limited experience up til now. Suggestions are very welcome. Also, while I don't go after many cat talents, I do not plan on not using it, it definitely has its roles, and I'm guessing that a druid who only uses 1 or 2 of his 3 combat forms is not playing to his full potential.

Sounds like you have two pretty good builds. I myself am a 0/11/40 build guy. One thing you might want to try for leveling up is getting Omen of Clarity and then respecing down the line. OoC really is very nice, there are times that I think about respecing out of my feral points and going back into that even at 57.
