Does anyone use fist weapons? I trained in them at level 20, thinking it would be cool, spent 6 gold on a main and off-hand set of claws, only to find that no matter what, Druids can't even dual-wield fist weapons they train in.

HIGHLY disappointing! I know we can't dual-wield, but why let us train in these, if not to make an exception on fist weapons? AND they don't clue you in on this anywhere until AFTER you train and buy the weapons, then find out you can't equip the offhand.

But still, I finally got the highest ones in game: http://www.thottbot.com/?i=10642

I've trained them up to 299 skill in 1 week, and added the Icy Chill enchant to them. Why, you say? Well, with the enchant AND Omen of Clarity, these things proc more often, because they hit faster than any staff, mace, or most daggers. I get WAY more Omen of Clarity free spells, meleeing with these than any other. They hit in the 60-90 range avg., with crits from 110-145. They crit a lot, and are fun to use, looks awesome too.

JUST wish we could all pester WOW to give us off-hand use of fist to make it worthwhile. It might help solve the PVP problems.

At best, Fist weapons are an afterthought in this game currently. They make little sense to use, even for rogues (who require a dagger for Ambush and Backstab, and a melee weapon for nearly all their attacks - yep, fist weapons currently count the same as being unarmed).

I suspect addtional fist weapon itemization in future content patches/expansions - perhaps when Hero classes are added in the game.

Speaking of hero classes.. How do you guys think that Blizz is going to work this one out?

I've got 300 in Fist Weapons and I still keep my vilerend around just to play with. Really it's not much more than that right now.

But remember, one other key advantage to fist weapons, is you CAN'T be disarmed in combat. This makes it nice also when fighting humanoids. Better than training in daggers. Plus, seriously, this thing hits FAST for more Omen of Clarity procs. I'd say 2.2 hits with these on average equals 1 hit with my Blanchard's Stout, but I get WAAYY more Omen procs = more free moonfire per battle.

Don't overlook these because of lower DPS, think of the other advantages with our buffs and procs. Like I said above, Icy Chill enchant on top of these also procs more often, currently seeing about 6% in melee when I equip these.

The Vilerend Slicer is the highest blue drop claw in game according to Thottbot, and it's a high rate drop off of The Behemoth, a rare spawn in BRD, outside the instance in the Quarry.

Too many people concentrate on high DPS only, without realizing that's a combination of Avg dmg/speed of weapon. Weapon speed should NOT be overlooked when Omen is such a big factor for us in battle.

Just my two cents, and hard earned experience being a pounded-on-by-Alliance druid.

I read somewhere that Blizz made it so that faster weapons wouldnt proc more than the slower weapons. If I can find that read, I'll link it.

I would love some set of fist weapon/off hand weapon that looked like the Spirit of Eskhandar set (bear claws for those who haven't seen).

I have the Eskhandar main hand. Looks cool on a druid. Too bad it is near useless from a practical standpoint. I farm with it sometimes.
