I know you guys probly answered this question hundreds of times so please don't flame me :). But I'm not understanding what our weapon dmg is good for in bear form. Right now when I'm not healing i'm using 2h mace The pacifier 104-156 dmg, +18 str, +7 sta. Now I saw in another post how enchantments like icy or fiery weapon does nothing for us. But the questions i'm asking is other then the stats what else do we look for in a weapon? Also do we even care about the weapon dmg? And what weapon enchantments are good for druids. I'm still new to this class so any help with these questions will be great ty.

For me, I tend to not look for Weapon DMG, but in the case of looking for a weapon with suitable stats, the higher the level, the better the DPS of the weapon is gonna be anyway. Depending on the set I am using (Feral or Caster) I look for different stats. Str/Stam for my Dire Bear when I am PvP/Dueling. Int/Stam in Caster for Instances, ect. Good enchantments for a Druid on a weapon would be a +int or a +str enchantment. Because personally, I see a Crusader enchant for a Druid is pointless and mostly cosmetic. The only time I actually do Melee with my weapon is when I am A.) Out of Mana, which usually means I am dead, or B.) Screwing around with against weaker mobs as a level skinning back up or find an unlucky horde on my bad days.

Thanks for the reply Astrel, I have a good idea on what to look for in my weapon selection and on what enchantments to get. Was kind of upset when I wasted the little bit of gold I have on my Icey enchantment thinking it might help.

If going feral weapon DPS is not added and Int/Spi only help in caster form. I prefer Resist or Agi stats for forms. Your damage in Feral will be influenced by Agi more if they make the changes they have rumored. Otherwise Sta is good. I carry several weapons and have a couple in the bank. One for healing, one for solo caster, One for resists and one for feral. In raids I melee mainly for the OoC proc to cast more heals.

As a druid you're not going to be dealing DPS with your weapon. You're just not... unless you're soloing, and that is more or less hoping for Omen of Clarity to proc as you wait out the moonfire ticks.

That said, I think the Sorcerous Dager

39-79@1.4 17 int 8 sta 20 healing

with the Fire-runed Grimoire

21 int 12 sta 11 healing

Is the combo to work toward.

Total of 38, int 20 sta, and 31 to damage/healing. Add on a +22 int enchant, and you're sitting at +60 --that's 900 mana.

Of course, if Molten Core is not a place you regularly raid, the hammer of the grand crusader is the "poor man's glowing brightwood"
