I'm currently a lvl 32 druid currently I was planing to put 14 points in balance and the rest into feral mainly into cat type stuff no bear and what ever was left into resort, should be about 5 or 6 points into resto. I mainly play solo or with 1 or 2 more guild members. I really like to pvp so figured that feral cat would be best. what are the opinions of feral cat or bear? what one is better for my type of pvp

one question with 1.8 does thick hide apply to bears or cats or both?

Not sure about your first question, as I don't PvP much.

Thick Hide, however, works with all forms and even unshifted now.

Thick hide is not worth it. 10% doesnt add up enough for 5 points. But if you hate all other options take it.

And if you solo, go Feral Cat. better DPS means killing stuff faster, as well you get Feline Swiftness fairly early in the tree which is nice for escaping and running down people PvP. Bears tank-ability doesnt really change with talents, your still tough.. so your better to spend on cat stuff for better DPS.

Well, I'd grab any talents that give extra threat (directly or indirectly) in bear form, that's one of its weak points.

Neglecting our adabtibilty and focusing on just one aspect of the druid is foolish imho. Which is better is much more a product of circumstance, rather then planning. If you try going headed to head with a warrior or hunter in cat, your prob gonna lose.

Opening with cat is almost never a bad idea... staying in cat for the whole fight is often a bad idea. Cat is much more viable then 1.6... I mean it's like comparing a butter knife to Rambo's... but still, Rambo put that knife away and used an bow (those explosive head arrows ftw).

Beyond that, your a druid and can heal... I'd expect to be a primary target in pvp. This is where bear comes in... you stay in cat with 3 or 4 people on you and you'll be road kill.

Good news is with the new talent tree, there's very few talents that don't impact both cat and bear. I think 14/5/32 is the best melee focused build, so your on the right track as far as talents go... just be sure to get feral charge! 8)

one more thing how does moonkin form do? and would it work with my style of play?

Moonkin RULES... but only if you're primarily balance specced. It isn't a feral form as such, so u better get used to burning thru mana in a caster role if u wanna use moonkin.

It does, however, increase your staying power in melee fights tho... :) greatly!
