I currently have Thick Hide 3, and in order to get Heart of the Wild I can either increase Thick Hide to 5, max Savage Fury to 2.

Thick Hide looks more beneficial asit aids all forms, and 10% of a large number when in bear form is going to be a decent increase in AC.

After advice from those that have taken the above.

i would definitely go with 2 pts in savage fury myself, but then again i see 3 pts in thick hide as pretty useless, so my opinion may not mean much to you. i am sure you have noticed that past say 7500 armor, more armor really doesn't do much in terms of damage reduction. with that in mind, i would prefer to increase my damage for my primary feral abilities through savage fury because the 20% boost is huge.

Savage Fury definitely. I like thick hide and would take it over some things but not over Savage Fury.

There are no diminishing returns on AC, thick hide gets better the more AC you have. The simple answer is, if you tank a lot or PvP a lot in bear form I'd suggest thick hide, if you don't than I wouldn't take it.

frankly i've never cared enough about tanking in bear form to give this issue much thought, probably because guildie warriors have discussed the benefits ac & def on survival time to death over teamspeak. if we're looking at pvp, i do think it's worth mentioning that armor does nothing to decrease magic damage obviously, so thick hide would not always necessarily help you against other players, while dps always will.

The more ac u have the better off u will always be. In cat form i noticed a big differnce in fighting at 2700ac verus 3000ac. That is when farming for ad faction on level 57ish mobs.

Btw i have recently been increasing my bear armor by leaps and bounds. Its a very very noticable difference going from 10300 to 11300.

Having said all that i did thick hide 3 and savage fury 2. I figure 4% ac vs 20% more damage on the specail abilities it covers was worth it for me.
