/cry. I loved my GWA, though didn't use it for anything other than pvp'ing rogues. I'm gonna miss it. Not end of the world though. On the upside I now have a free slot in my gear bag.

this is a sad, sad change....

I didn't just use it for pvp, the only way I could solo the Twilight Prophet and her goons in Silthius was wearing the welp armor...

On the upside it's one more bag slot to free up... for lower levels it is hella powerful still. 10 seconds is still enough time to heal up... being able to lose combat and drink to full mana was broken... fun, but broken.

Can someone copy/paste the details for some of us? My work has a crazy keyword filter (rss feed?) to block sites.

"Upon the release of patch version 1.10, players will notice that the Green Whelp Armor no longer affects targets above level 50. In addition, the the sleep duration will be reduced from 30 seconds to 10 seconds."

From what I understand, its being done because of its unblananced use in the BGs. Running the flag and leaving a trail of sleeping people behind you does seem rather good, but to me thats the trade off you get for using armor REALLY low for a level 60.

Bah! the flag runner is usually hit with ranged attacks that don't trigger the proc, or stuns to which it is a fair counter (you try to stun me, I have 1 in 20 chance of sleeping you).

It was our best defense to rogues the most overpowered class in BG/ PvP, and the nerf will make them even stronger. Lets not even harp on the fact that it was one of a precious few procs that worked in feral forms, helping make bear tanks more viable.

Damn, that makes me kinda sad. Now, if they'll put an epic that has the same affect to 60. Can we say... most sought after druid toy? :]

They added some Cenarion rep items in Silithus, including a number of Leather working patterns, but they are all for mail, so any leather wearer will not be able to make their own gear from them. And the exalted piece is called "Dreamscale" and still doesn't have a sleep proc.

30sec to 10sec is understandable. But why the heck are the rogues the ones complaining? Its freakin' leather armor!!! They can wear it too if they want. Its a low level armor, with poor stats and a proc thats only 5% of the time, and they [I]still[I] complain? /crymeariver

I don't even use the armor, but I still don't see why rogues complain so much.

This does make me sad. I have been having so much fun even questing in the GWA right now. Why does Blizzard have to mess with the fun stuff?

Getting overrun by beasts and having green whelp proc on 2 of the 3 has saved my arse on so many occassions. *sigh* Guess I have to lvl faster so I can get some better gear ;)

9er fan, you'll still be able to use for a while. It just doesn't work on mobs / players post 50. The fact that the sleep has decreased from 30 sec to 10 sec really doesn't bother me. 10 sec is still plenty of time.

Yeah but the 30 sec was much better crowd control, especially in bear, where we can't kill very quickly, 30 sec gave us time to get one done and move on to the next, sometimes with a heal thrown in.

lol gwmort I agree the 30 sec was nice. I'd rather it stay that way, but if they must nerf it, 10sec sleep is still better than say, 5 sec.

I've found that if someone falls asleep when I'm fighting 2 mobs, I can switch out, cast a regrow & rejuv to mitigate damage taken, pop into cat to burst dps on the one thats still awake, and can usually kill him super quick (less than 10sec), then think about how I'm going to handle the other one. 1v1 my cat pwns. 2v1 + w/o gwa bear ftw. 2v1 w/ gwa, bear till one falls asleep, then cat to finish.

Doesn't really matter though, as I will no longer be able to use it. Still the best 30-50 armor out there. Except maybe for fungus shroud armor from Mara (which I'm still using).

I'm balance now and love getting to draw whole crowds of mobs with hurrican then watching most of them fall asleep dashing against my thorns and massive moonkin AC (especially the lil' scorpions in Uldaman).

After much thoughtful reflection I realized the reason I'm so atached to it is because it is overpowered, so it probably should be fixed. It sure felt nice being overpowered for a change though.

There should be some sort of amnesty turn in where Bliz will buy them back and compensate us for enchants we put on them, like the cops do with illegal guns.

I got slept by a paladin wearing a Green Welp this weekend in WSG!@! it is indeed rather annoying to be on the recieving end of the sleep finally 8) We're lucky we kept this a secret for so long, I'm starting to imagine a world wear everyone that can wears these puppies..
