I was looking into moonkin builds an I'm wondering what builds people like. Imp starfire or imp moonfire or both? moonglow? OoC? Imp entangling roots? All in balance or balance/resto? how much resto? etc.

these were my ideas...
More balance less resto 41/0/10

less balance more resto 36/0/15

What are your thoughts?

:sumo: <---- because I can : )

I'm going for more of a 34/13/4, trying to spend every third mob or so in feral to regen mana. I also still like opening with a quick kitty combo from stealth before switching to moonkin for the long haul.

resurrecting an old thread here...

My current build is more of a hybrid at 33/0/18, which lets me switch roles between moonkin with my guild and friends, and MH when I need to PuG.

Although I have been really getting into the PvP grind lately, and am now considering respeccing closer to full balance.

GWmort -- could you provide links to your 33/0/18 and 34/13/4 builds? Thanks!

As a matter of fact, I respecced full balance last night for the PvP grind to rank 8 [excellent moonkin pants], and possibly beyond.

Here are the builds I have had though, I did enjoy the 33/0/18 and will likely go back after I get my fill of PvP.

Depending on your server rank 10 is pretty easy to hit. Rank 11 - 13 quite a bit more of a grind, and then 14 >.<

Everything is relative, I know most people can get to rank 10 with a little dedication, but I have many RL issues that limit my playtime, and queues are ridiculously long for alliance on my server, making it even harder to get into BGs to try to earn some honor.

Also my guildies aren't into PvP and want me to run 5-man instances with them.

My current Moonkin build is 35/11/5

I chose 5 in resto for some rage/energy when I go feral in BG's.

The 11 in feral are so I can make up some ground in BG and/or delay horde from capturing our flag. Shift out of moonkin shift to bear feral charge -> enrage -> bash. Voila at least 6seconds of just sitting there. And then your charge is almost up so repeat charge when it is.

Now for the big 35 point dump in balance this is to maximize my damage efficiency. With this build I can get upwards of 1888 starfire crits I have 0 tier 1/2 epics[I have the new starfire rank though Server PuG's ftw]. (I do own Hide of the Wild, Blue Dragon card, and the World drop necklace) Moonfire crits go for about 600-700 crits on the first strike. So I can just moonfire spam them if they're low on HP. :)

With my build I no longer fear the warlock as I once did and now with innervate I no longer fear running out of mana. The only players that are a threat are those in groups of 3+ or are decked in Tier 2 epics.

Well enough ranting hopefully this helped. -_-

balance:35 (Moonkin with full damage)
feral: 11 (for feral charge = spell interrupts, chasing fleeing loosers, immobilizing warriors and rogues)
resto: 5 (Furor to get instant feral charge)
