Re: UC TV: The skinny on fat (Part 1)

Hot dogs, mashed potatoes, and burgers are all fine Seriously? A typical recipe for mashed potatoes calls for half a stick of butter and a half cup of heavy cream (in addition to the potatoes, of course). And you make the gravy by taking pan drippings from your roast (watery animal fat) and mixing ...

Re: UC TV: The skinny on fat (Part 1)

Funny how, for all his nonsense anti-insulin, anti-carb ranting (most of which is demonstrably false), he struggles to be lean himself. Why anyone would take advice from this guy (or any of the other fat self-appointed diet experts) is beyond me. I wouldn't call the guy fat, but unhealthy yes. But,...

Re: Why is the media portraying him as a boy?

but Manslaughter I am sure of. Hopefully the prosecutor, defense team, and Zimmerman are smart enough to plea deal this one out so no more tax dollars have to be spent on this case and the media can find their next "big thing" to sensationalize. Really?, is that what you predict. And why ...

Re: UC TV: The skinny on fat (Part 1)

Maybe you haven't read the two studies but both showed a calorie =/= calorie. So a chemist and a doctoral student disproved the laws of thermodynamics? Seriously? A)They proved that once a "calorie" enters the body that the amino acids(?) that are responsible for breaking down your food d...

Re: UC TV: The skinny on fat (Part 1)

Maybe you haven't read the two studies but both showed a calorie =/= calorie. One was done by a chemist and the other by Doctoral student's but its been about 2 months sense I wrote the paper. They are not sure why this is but they have multiple theories why. But those results wont be published for ...

Re: Why is the media portraying him as a boy?

I'm not asking about the law. I am talking about the media. They still post up photos of when he was 12. It's interesting watching the formation of opinions and public opinion, especially when it is inaccurate. Yeah, the media got a few things wrong. Calling him "White" and he's "His...

Not sure if the riots will happen in Cali, but I wouldn't be shocked I guess. The state is a "powder keg" thanks to all the years of backwards policies.

Re: UC TV: The skinny on fat (Part 1)

It would be interesting to see where this goes -- whether it's just a rehashing of the fructose hypothesis or something more interesting. But, strictly for weight maintenance, a calorie is [/b] a calorie. Americans are getting fatter because their calorie intake has been steadily rising since the 1...

Re: If this is accurate....

It also reinforces my point. Politicians say they are spending 11.2k per/child by showing you the spending bills they pass. They don't show you the fine print that starts siphoning that money off to other non-education projects if certain arbitrary benchmarks aren't met. Actually, the California Co...
