Makes you wonder why the streets of San Francisco aren't piled with dead birds.

Oh yeah I forgot, "god" works in mysterious ways. Like punishing Christian rednecks in Arkansas when gay guys have sex in San Francisco.

Rather irrelevant dig at religion, but most people find it psychologically easier to cope with an arbitrary punishment for things they happen to disagree with anyway than to accept that the universe is pretty much random and everybody is completely irrelevant in the larger scope of things.

The late great Douglas Adams had it right when he wrote that the worst possible punishment you can mete out to people is to show them unequivocall, exactly what is their position in and relevance to the universe as a whole.
