Love it :)
Here's a second map I did of someone elses rough draft. Took me about two hours.

Why won't width and height tags work with vb tags?

Are these supposed to be islands or continents? They look like islands to me...
The top one is a map of the only continent for my campaign setting. The second one is just one I did based on someone elses map cause I was bored this morning. And yes... they're supposed to be continents, Iilane.

Very nice. For a pen & paper RPG, I presume?
How did you do them? What software packages, I mean?
Yes, the map is for an on-going campaign I've been running off and on for eight years. It's not always looked like this though. :p I am a terrible person when it comes to sticking with the same setting/story/map. My love of cartography doesn't help any either. I have probably created over a thousand different maps in the last fourteen years I've been playing D&D.
I used to draw them all by hand. Colored with crayons or colored pencils. Rarely markers. Never could get the hang of them. The above map was done with a copy of Photoshop I bought while attending school for graphic arts and computer science. Which means I can't sell my creations. Stupid clause in the student license agreement, but I can make stuff for myself.
I've often thought of trying to sell them to pay for a real copy of Photoshop though. The latest version, Photoshop CS, is only $650. I might buy Photoshop Elements from Amazon.com though instead. It's only $75 and has most of the same features I use to make my maps.

You can go the quasi-legal way, buy an older version of photoshop (like PS4-5, etc) and then buy the CS Upgrade, which is only around $120~200 (I forget exactly).

A few years back Wizards of the Coast/TSR (before they were Hasbro) put out a CD Forgotten Realms Interactive Atlas. Included was a mini version of Profantasy Software's Champaign Cartographer. It's a great program that allows you to create your own maps. You can even randomly generate and then modify your own maps. Here is a link: http://www.profantasy.com/
I've used the campaign cartographer before. I didn't like the first version though. CC2 is supposed to be much better. I prefer to have the freedom photoshop gives me however. Plus I can use it for all sorts of other things for my campaign stuff.
