Howdy. I've got a 68 druid, 65 chanter, and 62 warrior. I've got a CRT, a laptop, and two LCD's on my desk, and I'm trying to figure out a good way to grow into one more LCD so I can 4-box.

I'm just wondering, who out there 3-4 boxes (or more) and what desk, keyboard(s), and mice do you use to control all of them at once?

Reply to this post or PM me, I'm considering getting a new desk if there's one that will fit my needs better than my current one.

Thanks in advance.

I just use two computers, each with its own monitor, keyboard and mouse. I alt-tab between my druid and enchanter since my enchanter usually doesn't need much attention (at least the way I play).

I have a corner desk.

One Monitor in left cubby (with Keyboard on Top slanted like / , and mouse in front of it)

One Monitor in right cubby (with keyboard on top slanted like \, and mouse on far right on the add on roller hutch)

One monitor in center section (with keyboard & mouse on standard pull out)

Left Hand = Left Computer keyboard, Center Keyboard
Right Hand = All three mice, right keyboard

I'm thinking of adding a 4th with monitor on the center top of the desk
and mouse/keyboard on top of desk - in between the 2 others.

Set up has worked well for me, as I 2 box a ton. 700+ aa's worth, 366+ ldons, 3 MPG Trials completed, and 3 box a lot 200-300 of those aas, 100+ ldons of those havent tried a trial.

I've even manage with eqwindows to 6 box, playing 1, 3, 2 chars respectively due to systems, recently managing to 6 box Ptav Msha.

I three box with 2 monitors, keyboards, and mice.

I use a single set of KVM on one system and use the other set of KVM pluged into a KVM switch that goes between two other systems

You get a slight "lag" when changeing from one switch on the KVM to another but only the video "lags" so if you have hot keys and such setup, you don't even need the "V" part :p.

I have four boxed before but just eq window 2 accounts on my primary box and just use the other two less powerfull systems on a 1 to 1 ratio :p.

EDIT
Was going to add I bot a 58 war, 58 sham, 65 dru. and just began doing LDoN's. Can only do collects or so it seems and they need to be around the 25 or less area. With some AE roots, and AE slows, so far I've done well. You get 27pts each win :p

Thanks for the replies. I was kind of hoping for a specific desk recommendation. I know it's probably impossible to fit four keyboards + mice + monitors on any one desk, though.

I saw a picture a while back (like a year or so ago) that had 6 computers similar to karrani's picture. The guy had special keyboards, though.

He was in my guild, good friend of mine. :)

He used Thrustmaster something-or-other gamepads in place of keyboards on his non-main system. Then he had all LCD screens and I think eventually he mounted some on his wall to get them off the desk.

That is not a nude poster, that is a gaming chick!!

The 21 inch CRT has since been replaced by another 17inch lcd.
I find having one main (in the middle) and the others just support makes having keyboard and mouse on all of them not a big thing. Hot keys and eqcompanion make it transparent. Eqcompanion uses voice output to tell me when my snare hits/gets resisted, fizzles, other resists, slows land or dont land, etc. So I seldom have to watch the other screens when I am doing camping kinda of stuff. When I 3 box'd ldons (I just park the chanter at zi for buffs), the other 2 are on /follow. I tried the gamepad thing, but found properly set up hotkeys and practice made them not necessary. I now mostly just 2 box, druid and beast in wos and instances. Just use the other 2 for buffing before heading out.

showeq?? No no no! That is, uh, that is.. that is my mapquest of Chicago!!
Trust me.

Oh yeah, you pretty much need multiple desks. I think Gomo had 3 desks setup in a U-shape around him, but it has been awhile. I used two-desks side-by side.

If you don't feel the "need" to have 3+ monitors my setup is pretty simple.

It is just a rectangular desk, you know the type, pretty standard really. I have a keyboard drawer / shelf and just above that I've got enough room to put another keyboard so the keyboards are just above/below each other. Mice are both off to the right of the keyboards, my two 21inch CRTs are next to each other just behind the keyboard on the top shelf, with the KVM switch under my primary monitor.

Pretty basic setup really, nothing like those pictures posted above :p.

I also use a pretty cheap "helper" tool that GREATLY minimizes my need to even look at or even use the non-main keyboard or mouse. Toss me an e-mail if you like and I'll let you know what it is.
