Hey everyone. My friend recently quit EQ and passed off his 66 Druid to me. I have been spending time learning the class' ins and outs. I am gonna be moving on to PoS to solo the frogs in my further journeys to continue learning. I did however find a thread on a different board about druids being able to solo Lodizal? I wouldnt be trying this anytime soon, as I still am not comfortable with all a druid can do, but I would love to hear the strategy on how to do this. Playing a druid is alot different from playing my Ranger and Beastlord. Once I get comfortable with this character, I will at least have a travel partner for my other two toons. Any insight on this strategy is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I did read that you used to do this by DC'ing Coruduth (sp?) but that this is no longer an option as this MOB is no longer charmable.

Lodizal is pretty weak compared to mobs you might find in exp zones today. Just land ensnare and you should be all set; run and nuke between summons, and heal yourself as needed.

Oh, don't forget to land your debuffs too before you start to do damage (which will begin the summoning). Hand of Ro and Ro's Illumination combine for -180 atk, which might fall under the "every bit helps" category, plus Hand of Ro lowers fire resistance significantly which will help nukes land more easily.

Thanks so much for the info. I thought it would be a tough task, but I am sure it's no sure thing especially for a newbie to the class like me. I will keep familiarizing myself with the druid class before attempting this, but will definately give it a shot. Thanks again.

I'm sure it's no surprise but your gear will make a huge difference in your chances of success. If you don't have decent HP/AC you'll burn a lot, if not all, of your mana healing yourself. Be sure to use your two highest level damage shield spells along with natures recovery and your highest level regen. As Palarran stated, be sure to debuff Lodi as it makes a noticeable difference in his damage output and his resist rate. Also, dire charm a wolf or cougar, give it a full set of mage pet gear, and have it attack Lodi from behind. If you have a spell haste focus, be sure to use it.

Let us know how it goes. :-)
