I am kind of bugged by this. Someone posted about burning affliction 4 over in spells, and the more I think about it the more I wonder why they didn't just do them all.
The foci are slot 3 augments, so in the first place you would need to buy or obtain an LDON item to put it on.
Second, the base level focus effects are either:
So common that you can get them on dozens of items...
OR
So rare that you can't find them no matter what you do...
AND they are always makeable through pottery if you get the right drops.
They already exist in the game in (in theory) an easily obtainable format. Letting someone have the greater flexibility of making a special LDON item for an ocassionally needed or missing effect would have been a very obvious way to add value to the expansion in a way that does not really negatively impact the game world in any way.
A heal 4 is not going to be a better option than Gift of Marr arms. If you already have a heal 4 say from the mini behemoths, you won't need a new one from LDON.
But if you can't track down a range focus or a burning afflication focus, this was the time to address it.
The really maddening thing is there is a scattering of focus effects on the LDON merchants, which seem to have little rhyme or reason. There is Burning Affliction 3, as well as spell haste 4. Why one at the level 4 focus but the other at level 3?
I am hoping there is still some trick as yet undiscovered that reveals more AP buyable stuff, but at this point I am left a little dumbfounded.
