West Edmonton mall is an awesome place. I went there 2 years ago when I was visiting family. It's kinda like a theme park with stores.

I lived in Edmonton for about five years. West Edmonton Mall is awesome. It was the largest mall in the world --- probably still is. There was one store with three different outlets because the mall was so big. If you forget where you parked your car, you're in deep trouble. The various theme parks rock. My personal favorite ride is the Mindbender roller coaster. I think West Edmonton mall has more submarines than the Canadian Navy -- and the ones in the mall actually work.

If you ever stay in Fantasyland Hotel, try out one of the theme rooms. My favorite is the trucker room where your bed is in the cab of a truck.

West Edmonton Mall may not rival Walt Disney World, but it sure attracts a lot of shoppers. Malls like the Galleria in Houston are puny in comparison (couldn't resist the 'it's bigger in Texas' jab, Hehe).

One piece of advice -- if you go, make sure you have a good map. If not, you can be wandering for a long time.
