Hi, another newbie Druid here. I have started several new chars on Maelin Starpyer server, mostly to get a feel for the low level game today, as opposed to the game when I started just after Kunark came out.

My main is a Vah Shir Beastlord, Level 61 on Vazaelle. I have used all my char slots, and find that I cannot resist twinking, so I went to a new server to try out new classes.

I made a human female (I'm male) Druid. I am in the middle of doing the Newbie Armor Quest, and it is a BIG pain. I have done several of the Newbie armor quests (Gnome Shadownight, Barbarian Shaman, Ogre Beastlord, Erudite Shadownight, High Elf Enchanter) and the Human Druid ranks among the most difficult and frustrating of them all. I have leveled up to level 11 doing nothing but farming components for this quest, and have not got them all yet. I have spent 4 hours in Blackborrow trying to get Ruined Armor, and gotten 2 pieces (doubles, couldn't use) in that space of time. That is ludicrious. Most of the leveling has happened in Blackborrow, and it seems the zone will be all green before I get the armor.

Other Newbie quests have been much easier. My Ogre BL was done at level 5. My Barb Shaman at level 6. The Gnome Shadownight(another difficult one) was done at level 8. The Erudite and High Elf are still in progress, but the Enchanter is the only one that might compete withe the Druid in difficulty.

Why does Sony do this? Here, have some Newbie Armor, except for Druids and Enchanters, you gotta work 5 times as hard.

By the time I have the armor, it will be outdated.

Hmmm, I faced the same problem when I started a wood elf druid on a different server (my regular server was pretty unstable at that time). It took me till nearly level 15 to get every piece of newbie quest armor, there was always one rare component that just refused to drop. I figured everyone had it equally tough. I never realized other newbie quest armor could be so trivial that someone can complete it by level 5, which is at best one or two nights effort.

I am almost done. I went to Blackborrow last night and in a group came up with the last 2 pieces of leather I needed. On the way to Quenos, I got 1 of 2 Giant Field Rat Wiskers I need to finish out the set. :clap: That has been another pain, as the Giant Field Rats are kind of rare, and the Giant Field Rat Wiskers are no drop, and very rare drop. I needed 5 total, and have killed about 45 Giant field rats to get it. 1 more to go, and I have the full set!
