I recently have started soloing in the nest with root/rot. Many of the mobs near zone in are single pullable and if not you can snare one and zone and come back and kill. Nothing I have found near zone in summons and its usually totally empty. With CV, 15FT, and self buffs I can kill one and lose about 1.5k mana.

Drakes are about 8% aa.
The lil bone dragons (forgot name) are bout 13% aa. (caution some are clerics)

Also if you have a few friends you can get the mission web of lies and go in there and all kite at the same time. I was getting a nice 16% aa per kill in the mission, but they also seem to have more hp, not sure on the exact numbers.

All in all the nest is the new cool place to solo, i find it alot easier than tables and alot less runnin around! :wiggle: If you got any questions ;tell fennin.eluden.

Be careful, I was told you can fall off in there, although I didn't try :)

if you fall off head north once you hit the bottom, you should see a yellow pad that will port you back up top.

Be warned though that your mob can fall off the edge and disappear for a bit until it pops back at bind and regens to full.

If you have more ppl with you get an instance so you get the better exp bonuses from more red and yellow cons (this is why the undead/boney drakes to the left are much better exp.

For some reason I could not find a map for the nest and I have been wanting to go there for a while. Could some one just tell me how to or and easy way to get to this zone. Also is anything DC able there or just root/rot there.

Big hole in the middle of the lake in Broodlands. No DC, but nice try at optimism (there hasn't been anything DCable outside natimbi and draniks scars since pop, not counting ldon and loy because they sucked)

hmmm...

I just went there for my 1st time. The blue con drakes give like 3-4 % AA

There are several yellow cons accross the bridge. Not sure if it's safe to pull. Will they come single or should i snare then zone? Are these the ones that give 13% AA?

Edit:
Well I tried to pull the yellow cons from accross the bridge. They would warp to me and start a pounding. If I zoned or egressed, when I came back they were snared somewhere down in the pit.

He probably meant instanced versions give 13%. I have 2boxed kiting in an instance and got 7-8% per kill, so I bet thats it. I heard a necro in my guild talking about killing the yellow con ones in the normal version of the nest, but I think he had to use snare/FD tactics, and he complained about the warping. Also I seem to recall him saying he got 7-8% for those.

Now I haven't hunted there in a week or two since I've been busy, but the yellow con cursed drakes in the non-instanced version always gave me about 13% per kill.

The trick in making them not warp is to lead them carefully down the ramp. They will walk directly towards, regardless of terrain. If that causes them to fall off the edge, they will warp on top of you and commence the beatings. You have to not get too far ahead and lead them down the ramp very slowly, then go back to kiting as usual at the bottom.

And as long as you watch out for the pather, that whole section comes single, except for the last two on the right.

I'd like to say this is by far my favorite solo spot now. Web of Lies is nice exp and doesnt get boring... have to split drakes by snaring and evaccing but it works.

Templars suck though :P I avoid them like the plague.

Hey, I tried solo'ing in the instanced Web of Lies yesterday and for me root seemed to be breaking every 30 seconds or so. I was using Savage roots which is what I've normally been using in vxed and it generally lasts for the full duration with the occasional break. I was having trouble keeping them dotted with so many root breaks, should I just be nuking them down? Do the yellow drakes in non-instanced version have less root breaks? Thanks.

No they break root quite often, just have to be ready for it and dot them up as soon as you get root to stick on them. Its a pain but its hella easy once you get used to it, and its worth it too.

fwiw, lair of the blackwings can be completely kited. 62 crystals. near two aa in a group. 45 mins for a good kite team. prolly soloable if you have some friends willing to join the instance with you while they are off xping in rss or something.

I don't really root anymore, unless i wanna hit the drake with Orb. Rest of the dots you can pretty much cast while kiting thanks to the reduced casting time. Just kite, stop, cast dot, keep running.

Do you think vxed would be a better option for someone with my quality gear then? In vxed I'm able to root and time the dots so that I have time to sit for full mana regen inbetween spell casts. Worried I'll run oom in the nest pretty quickly. Heres my magelo http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=812797

that should be plenty of mana
i'd est tipt/vxed mobs to be ~ 35-40k
i'd be surprised if nest was > 40-45k

Pretty sure Tipt/Vxed mobs are more like 25k-30k.

if the hynids in vxed are 30k then the mobs in the nest are about 50k. The hynids take me 3 full rounds of dots that i use and the ones in nest take 5 if i get everyone off each round. The pookas in vxed seem to have 10 percent or so more hp than the hynids.

I do 5 rounds of Vengeance of Tunare, Vengeance of the Sun, Immolation of the Sun, Wasp Swarm and clicky orb. Keep in mind that this is in the instanced Nest (Web of Lies mission) and also that i have dot extension on my belt.

Reread the thread and tell me how many times this has already been mentioned.

I agree that the instanced nest is leaps and bounds better than the regular nest (for a well geared person.)

Shorter pulls, less clerics, red conners, better areas you can solo in. It seems like the yellows in the non instanced nest are in a area that likes to warp a lot - not a problem for my druid but my necro alt has died a few times when mobs plopped on his head. My favorite spot to solo in the regular nest is inside Tshara room, but since Tshara is usually perma bugged on most servers and prolly not all that popular to kill anyways, the windows you can do that in are pretty small.

I was soloing a bit in the hyve last night in dod it's very nice xp :) Mobs hit for 1200 but where easily snarable, rootable and didn't resist dots... seemed to give little over 2 blue aa at 100% aa xp per kill. Oh and the dark blues that I killed didn't sumon. I might try to quad in there, there is tons of open area.
