Hey all I was looking at the new stuff on Lucy and there were a couple spells that I noticed had an odd resist check - Chromatic-

<a href="http://lucy.fnord.net/spell.html?id=4199&source=Test" target="top">Curse of Kel'Novar</a>

<a href="http://lucy.fnord.net/spell.html?id=4116&source=Test" target="top">Aura of the Synarcana</a>

Anyone have an idea of how this works out as we don't have any saves vs chromatic? Is it something along the lines of it checking randomly one of the 5 saves?

I noticed that too...I have no idea.
Could be something like checking an average of the five saves or something?
Or maybe it's a way to set a fixed resist rate that can't be affected by gear or spells (rather than only having the Unresistable option)?

the more different colours you dye your armour, the less these spells will affect you. go go Crayola Druids!

Rotate shield harmonics!

Shift phaser frequencies! They have adapted!

Hmmm...

Speculation time! Maybe it's a way of negating all the raid-inflated gear? Just make up a new resist no one has yet.

Chromatic means all resistances are checked. If any fail, the effect lands. This encourages people to get all their resistances up.

Ouch...that's harsh, especially with the modifiers they're using with chromatic. It's going to make small differences in resists make a huge difference at higher resist levels, and be insignificant at lower resist levels. Following an x^5 curve doesn't seem like a good idea...(individual resist rates are linear, right?)

How did you find out that that's what chromatic means?

It could just be a guess.

But that sounds like an interesting idea. But the chance of success gets slimmer the more checks you need to do.

"uber" raid geared people are already in check. Resists hard cap at 500, so it does not take much "uber" gear, if any, once added to Buffs+Bard.
