About bras... god I hate buying new bras. Anyway, these bras I bought are SCRATCHY in the back. What sort of sadists design these things anyway?

Oh I watched a show on the History Channel about this. A man invented the Bra.

Must be his sadistic great grand son designed this one. Hope this thing softens up in the wash.

Actually, the person credited with patenting the first bra is female (http://inventors.about.com/library/weekly/aa042597.htm)

Scratchy bras....underwires that jab you in the armpits...hooks that rub on your spine. Bras are da debil, but apparently a necessary debil. Gravity isn't so kind.

Damn, Isaac Newton and his discovery of gravity!

I suppose I should pay more attention when I'm buying bras but these are more like boob shelves than bras. Bleh! Washing did soften up the clasp thing in back, thank god!

I don't know anything about bras though so I am sorry =(. You ought to design your own clasp that is easy to work with, doesn't come undone, and doesn't irritate you to death.

Oh and what's the disadvantage of using a bra that hooks in the front?

Well, I need a little more substance in front. I think the bras with the front closures are a little skimpy in the frontal part. But, I can't see any reason why they can't design them with more fabric there and use a bigger clasp. Maybe having a big clasp there would be uncomfortable. But then again, those underwires kind of come together in the middle too and it doesn't present an issue for my comfort.

I think this bra was designed to maximize cleavage and that really isn't what I want for just everyday.

If a man truly designed bras, they WOULD have the clasp on the front.

Quick connects or velcro too.

With little sliding doohickies on the side and across the shoulders for adjustment.

And maybe padded shoulder thingies. Have you seen how some big breasted women get those creases, that's insane. There has got to be a better way of doing that.

Of course men did not invent bras, no more than they came up with your silly sizing clothes systems,,,,Petite Large, what the hell is that?>??>

Now back laces, ya, I can see a man inventing that.../wink. I like laces.

Man I am being a guy, trying to solve the problem instead of just feeling sorry.

What about a piece of bra material (cotton? spandex?) that goes between the clasp and your skin?

Heh! I was thinking the same thing, Oddjob. Hey, my doctor has me on testosterone supplements, maybe I'll experience your way of thinking soon!

Yeah, the claspy thing would have to be cloth covered, I can visualize the doohickey I'd use if I were designing it. I've seen them used else where, almost like how you put a drapery hook into a pleated drape. (Yeah, like anyone but maybe Jinjre knows what I'm talking about... maybe Arienne).

Maybe when I "retire" I'll take up bra design!

I think Velco would be too bulky and it'd look lumpy (in the wrong way) under your clothes. And these bras can be under a bit of pressure so you really wouldn't want to trust it something like velcro. I wish one could just super glue things into place and maybe reglue them every few weeks. :D

Well the problem with Velcro too is if it doesn't fit exact it can be very irritating. The one side is made of rigged hooks and the other side of coarse strings. I had this problem with kneepads for work.

You got it the other way around, you should take up bra design so you can retire. From the complaints I hear about bras and women's underwear in general there sure is a market for it. While you're at it design a panty called "Nothing Special" and is just that, sells in a 12-pack for $12.

Ok, let's do some research. Every female on the board post a picture of yourself wearing your most favorite bra and we'll decide which one is the group favorite ... :)

please? ;)

Be careful what you ask for Kerech. There are some things you just can't UNsee.

Don't know about the bra's but wasnt the bikini named after the island because of the atom bomb tests, because bikinis are "the bomb"

More likely due to the fact that both have fallout. :p

LOL!

I think the garmet, was around before the phrase, "the bomb".
