First of all ive /bugged this.

ok so read on.

This does not happen for the default UI ..

So if you have ANY custom UI with Tabs in them on the Pet window you can totaly crash out EQ to desktop.

I will explain this to try to get it fixed. You yourself can only do it no one can do it to you so it cannot be used maliciously.

So open the tab which doesnt have the pet commands on. For example with Vert mod they have a resists / stats tab.

Then click on the box (not tab) and keep your finged down. You will totaly crash out of EQ.

SoE please fix this.

they really need to stop @#$%ing with the UI's.

I mean, fine, play with the storyline window and whatever. Its not like anyone mods those anyway.

But it @#$%es me off to no end when they destroy the custom UI of tens of thousands of playrs by changing sometihing utterly useless - like the recent addition of numbers onto the hotbuttons.

Thanks, but I could already count. Is it really worth it to @#$% up everyones custom UI to accomodate the people who cant count?

I just think they need to be a LOT more hesitant to change the UI, since it causes sucha huge headache every time they do.

For the most part changes are easy to do, but when they start screwing with the animations file it pisses people off. I'm just living with the red 'YOUR UI IS NOT DEFAULT' @#%$ untill I get more time to change every single thing. And yeah, those #'s on the buttons are what 1 year olds need, not people of age to play this game.

For some strange reason, my error message went away after I removed my custom target window (with health % to the right of the bar). When I copied the file back in, the message came back.

Well I maybe able to count, but sometimes I find it hard to remember which button a macro is without counting them out. I have no problem fixing up the UI, took me less than 10 minutes and I did that while the patch was on. I guess the problem is if you can count, but can't make your own UI.

I think it was a nice change, you know you can still have a UI without the numbers on the buttons.

I've been able to fix my ui on every patch except this one :( Even using all the cut/paste descriptions from eqgui my custom one still won't work :( So bummed

The reason most likeyl is that the new hotbuttons use a new graphic, which is loaded in hotbutton file. You need to either - change the HBButton1 to = the settings you use, or change the graphics that you old UI uses.

It does come down to the individual UI as to what has been customised, so it could require something different

Doesn't happen for me and I use Vert v2.2 that I've modded on my own. Of course I take care to add any updates that SOE adds to the files that Vert uses.

Did you get an updated Vert? Recently SOE made some changes to the EQUI_Animations.xml file and also several other files. i.e. for Vert I had to update and customize some things in EQUI_Animations.xml, EQUI_PetInfoWindow.xml, EQUI_PlayerWindow.xml, EQUI_TargetWindow.xml, EQUI_HotButtonWnd.xml.

See, Vert used filenames to store stuff for its UI that SOE is now using for the default UI. Those files are named window_pieces06.tga and window_pieces07.tga. What I did was change the entries in EQUI_Animations.xml to look for window_pieces_vert06.tga and window_pieces_vert07.tga, renamed the files then modified the above files by replacing all instances of the old filenames with the new ones.

I dont use vert either ..vert was just an example it happens on different UI's not just vert. Make sure your doing exactly what I explained and I know what im doing with UI's I know what they changed in this patch.

Just to reitterate. I got the peopel in druid chat to test this on their UIs not just me and everyone who had a modded UI with their pet window crashed out doing this....even moli haha

Well, I think I was doing it right.

1) I opened my pet window (does there have to be a pet or can I just manuall open the window?)
2) Clicked on the resists/stats tab
3) Clicked and held in the area that is NOT the tab (i.e. clicked and held on area where the information is displayed in the window)

Is that what you're supposed to do to make it crash? Do you have to have a pet to do it?
