While charm kiting with a feeble rat in PoD I had egress'd out to avoid a bad pull. So I invis'd up and ran back over to the castle gate to get my pet. I resnare, charm and have it guard. I don't see a single mob around, but suddenly off it goes. Next thing I know here comes about 8 mobs that are still pissed at me from earlier. I thought egress wiped a mobs hate list?

It does, might have regained aggro when you charmed your pet though.

Depends on if this happened prior to the patch or after. Prior to, zoning bugged charm which might have caused what happened to you.

PoD is a little buggy itself though. I've had friends who had their corpses poof on them, summon corpse and bard corpse located resulted in "corpse in not in zone" type messages

The charm bug claimed quite a few victims! The zone-out to Earth was just added in the last patch; before that, once zoned in, you had to teleport out. Dire charmed armadillos (unslowable, unrootable) would remember you after an exodus and come running from wherever they were left in the zone, to the zone-in... with the expected consequences. ^__))

I charmed a lot of pestilent rats in PoD through 56 and 57. Had to egress plenty of times without any problem, including a few times where my pet had 2-3 mobs on it. I'd egress, invis, run back to the spot and recharm without problems.

aybe it depends if the mob is a roamer or stationary. I think in my case they were stationary because I was pulling from one of the pipes in the zone. Maybe they lose agro by returning to their home spot in a manner similar to feign death?

Egress DOES NOT clear aggro when charming rats in PoD. I do this all the time. If I am forced to egress then I won't return there.

Too many times I have egressed, went back to where I was, and was aggroed by my pet and/or the mob(s) I was killing (puslings, pupals, catipillars, spiders, whatever). Sometimes they also bring their friends from very far away.

Another problem I have is that if I am being attacked while egressing, I will lose all of my buffs upon return. This has happened about 10-15 times in the past 2 months. It occurs not only in PoD but anywhere that I egress while being beat on. It wouldn't be a big deal if I was self buffed but I like to have KEI while soloing.

The only recommendation I have is get used to it. I don't see this being changed very soon, if at all.

Actually I dont think this is a true statement anymore. It definately used to be the case I agree and several times I zoned and ended up on full health and zero buffs. However recently in PoD I have used Egress to save myself and ended up on anywhere between 50% to 20% health minus my buffs. Personally I think something different is going on in that zone.

It works like this, from what I've understood... if you have less hp than what is granted by items when you zone, you die during the zone but will come back with the hp of the items. According to your Magello, you'd have around 35% hp left if you died during zoning, Thandril.

I think what happened here was that the mob you charmed suddenly went off to attack a mob you hadn't agro'd after egressing?

This is due to the mob still being on the ex-pet's agro list, and when charmed again, it remembers that agro and goes off to attack. /pet back off would fix it.

I've had that happen a few times myself.

The first few weeks of PoP I had groups wiped after Evaccing both in PoD, PoI and PoJ - in all cases none of us were using non-DC pets and we were wiped before we attempted to charm anything else or even move from the GY.

I was told this was fixed and I never observed this problem in any other planes.
