One 98 Dodge intrepid.
Going 35... heading toward stoplight... breaks no worky.. started pumping them.. then slammed them due to proximity. They finally locked in with roughly 10feet left. Tried to turn left into the ditch... but once they locked in.. steering was non-existent. Rear ended a honda pilot suv '05.
They were fine (thankfully). Muffler and bumper a bit hosed, but car was good other than that. As for mine.. yea.. totaled. Low to the ground intrepid + raised up suv = front end and hood crumpling like a coke can.
Happened yesterday. My airbags deployed.. although it didnt hit my face/chest, got airbag burns on my left arm. Right Knee also kissed the dash board. I was fine (no pain) until this morning.. and the right side of my neck is pwning me :(
Good times.. good times.

Yeah, I remember my one accident someone rammed me by not stopping at a 4-way and I was fine the first day, hurt like hell the second.

As someone who's been in three different car accidents (none while I was the driver) I can tell you this much. Call your insurance company quickly, but don't sign anything until at least a week or two after you've gone to see at least one doctor. You should always wait before signing any type of paperwork from your insurance company, even if that means that you might have to foot the repair bill for a while until you get your claim check. Remember that a lot of soft tissue injuries won't appear until you're body's had a chance to rest. And even if you feel perfectly fine, you should see your doctor. Your insurance company should cover that.

*hugs* were much needed and appreciated :-p I've had a bad beats string runnin' recently. thanks pan.
Storm - mucho appreciado for the advice. I've had torticullis(sp?) (left side neckpain) before and chiropractor was a god send. so to boot, that now gives me more chances to see my chiro (mm heaven!).
and of course, other possible unforeseen damage ! woohoo :-/

.
In January of this year I was doing 50-55mph when some idiot pulled out from a stop sign (he had one, I didn't and speed limit for me was 55mph). I t-boned the other vehicle and destroyed my truck and his mini-van. I had severe chest pain and pretty bad lower back and neck pain. The pain got much worse about a week afterwards. I didn't touch my airbag although it deployed and my seatbelt worked, but didn't work properly. Give it some time like Storm said for all the injuries to show their ugly faces. It took me about 2 weeks before I got the brunt of the pain (felt like I was literally about to die).
As for filing claims, from what my lawyer told me, filing with your own insurance company is fine, but don't talk to the other insurance company until you have spoken to a lawyer. Insurance companies can be devious little bastards and the one I was dealing with wanted to basically cover as little as possible and tried to get me to say it was my fault.
With you though, sounds like your brakes were screwed and it might rest on Dodge. Of coourse, barely anyone wants to go up against Dodge cuz they are very good at getting out of any bad publicity. Just some words for you to think about. Sorry this happened to you, ever since I got into my accident I feel really bad for anyone else who gets in one because I know the pain they are going to be in.

! Scary stuff Kaio. Ughh.. 55 *shudders* I'd hate to even... ugh.. even imagine it. That's terrible. I'm still doing alright. No pain since the morning after. 30~ and 55 is a huge difference.. and its good to know your alright Kaio. (Well as alright as ya could be from something that bad! i'm so sorry to hear it.
Yeah, both of the the doctors that I went to said it was a miracle I was still alive, or at least wasn't completely broken. It has been about 8 months now and I feel pain still, but not as bad as it was.
The real scary part is how often it replays in your head. That is the part that really sucks because you keep thinking if there was something else you could have done. Anyhoo, either way, 35 or 55, accidents really suck and are very painful. Glad to hear that you aren't too jacked up and that there hasn't been any pain. Hopefully there won't be :o)
