For you users of Firefox, 1.5 b1 is out now.

It's interesting, runs a bit different. Fx seems to be using a different windows API now. The menu styles are definatly much different, don't know if I like them yet; they menus are a bit "spacier" now, which I definately don't like. The caching (hitting back) is just as fast as Opera now. Fx 1.5 even supports moving tabs around!

And for all you web developers, it's now bundled with CSS3 and javascript 1.6 support.

Just installed it myself, checking it out. Lack of a few extensions, however, is hurting me (lack of compatability).

Hey guice, does it spoof IE?

It doesn't "spoof" IE by default, but you can get an extension that will add the ability to change your Browser's user agent signature thus making sites think you're using IE. The User agent switcher is even more powerful then Opera's switcher were Opera still keeps the word "Opera" within their UA string, even in "IE mode".

I know Fx will work just fine on most sites that support IE now with a stealth addition (stealth to the public) of document.all support (an IE only support). This was actually added back in 1.3 time frame. The only reasons sites, these days, don't "work" in Fx is due to browser checks and sending of different data based on your browser.

Do you know what the add-on is called? I'm not worried about IE "only" websites, our freakin' proxy is checking browser signatures and allowing only IE =P

User Agent Switcher (https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=59). I don't know if supports 1.5 yet, though.

User Agent Switcher (http://chrispederick.com/work/firefox/useragentswitcher/).

Also, I'd hold off on upgrading to Firefox 1.5 for a bit still if you use a lot of extensions; most of them aren't working with it yet.
