I put 2 out of 3 into this AA ability and let me give you the run down.

The pet double hits for a high of 350 damage. He seems to hang around for about 20-30 seconds. His graphic is the standard BOOBOO the bear graphic, but it says "<your name="">'s Pet".

Has anyone maxed out the AA? Does he hit harder? How long does he hang around for?</your>

On beta, level 3 was 70ish seconds, the highest hit i saw (on Broon and Proon) was 350.

Personally I think the reuse time on NG is too long. I'd like to see it shortened to be more in line with the Swarm Pets type AA that other classes get. More like 15 minutes vice the 22 minutes that NG is now. The reuse time compared to the damage output that little BooBoo does compared to the amount of AAs this cost to max is ridiculous.

I pull him out on rampaging mobs so that he dies instantly!

I pulled him out while slightly up on a hill. He ran down the hill to the mob and died before landing a single hit. The mob was being tanked by a paladin at the time and it was rather dissappointing for a first impression.

i think it rocks if you use it right, but yah i recon they should cut the timer down to at least 15min or less.

This is a toy just like the spell version. Though if you use it right he can do some dmg in his short life

Realistically this is a mana-free dot. The last time I popped the level 1 pet it hit 7 times, missed 8 times, and did 1820 damage while he was up. Higher levels will obviously produce more damage. The next time I'll try and cast Lion on him to see if that damage can be upped a littel bit. Even so, 2k of damage mana-free is well worth 3AA.

Lion landed well and the max hits did go up (i remember at least a 368).

Just a thought. Anyone try casting our older pet attack buff on this directly after summoning it or is it even a waste to try. I just remembered it was nice to use during my charm fighting days.

Yes i tried that and swarm pets arent tagged as your actual pet aparently. When you try to cast it, the spell tells you that you have to cast it on your pet.

Would have been nice, since thats the only form of haste we get. I think if they keep the 22 minute timer they should have booboo 2.0 spawn with atleast some form of haste. up its dps a little bit that way and i wouldnt mind the 22 minute timer.

Can anyone tell me what its DPS is now against a level 70 mob for its full duration? I don't have this aa yet, and won't be buying it for a good bit.

Have you spent 12 AAs in Archetype?

I have Tier 2 so far and will be getting the third. We had our Druids fire them off last night on a raid and I have to say it was kindof cool to have a bear to send when swarms were called.

He's not overpowered but he's certainly not useless. I was among the ones who asked for this specifically and I'm very happy with it.

Yeah I have almost all archetype abilities only missing like the defensive ones, and the train button doesnt show up as clickable still, sigh, was looking forward to pet also.

I have rank 2 of boobo.. and i am quite happy for mine really.. yea he dies to fast and the reuse time i too long..

But i think he does about 2k dmg before going away :p

and afaik i think i read something like :

Rank1 : 15 sec
Rank2 : 30 sec
Rank3 : 45 sec

I used the pet (rank 1) against named mobs in DoD Missions - some nice extra dps :) about 350 HP hits. The pet would be surely too powerful for druids if not time limited :/

I am happy to have a new booboo to impress my group with ;)

I have to say... this little bear is priceless for soloing! :D

When you fire up this pet, make sure you put him behind your target mob..his chances of living out his duration is much better, plus he can hit alot more than he misses.

Rank 1 = 30 Sec
Rank 2 = 45 Sec
Rank 3 = 60 sec

Not sure if Extended duration focus effects work on him, though, as I do not have this AA yet.

Does he have as much push as other swarm pets have? That's another benefit of 'em after all if used correctly.

Some pet parsing :-

Pyrilen Flamemistress (RSS) - 34 sec - 11 hits - 3000 damage
Royal Protector (DoD mission) - 41 sec - 12 hits - 3760 damage
Drachnid (DoD mission) - 19 sec - 10 hits - 2770 damage
Warlord Drellak (DoD mission) - 57 sec - 15 hits - 4050 damage
Ptav M'sha (qvic) - 62 sec - 20 hits - 6180 damage
Ptav M'sha (qvic) - 62 sec - 24 hits - 7320 damage
Doomfire Wizard (PoF) - 51 sec - 10 hits - 3200 damage
Doomfire Guardian (PoF) - 41 sec - 17 hits - 4800 damage
Isle Guardian (DoN) - 31 sec - 9 hits - 2530 damage
Drachnid Champion (Hive) - 19 sec - 10 hits - 2860 damage

Pet seems to do between 90 & 150 DPS.

Most swarm pets die very fast, especially in raid situations with things like enrage, AEs, AE rampage, etc.. it's not obscene amounts of damage, and it will rarely (if ever) be the make-or-break ability in a fight. He's on a 22 minute timer probably because that's about the reuse on most melee offensive discs and other caster swarm pets (I could be wrong here, haven't looked up all the AAs and such for casters and melee thing is only from playing a rogue for a short amount of time). I think he's a cute and fun addition to the arsenal and honestly. If you don't appreciate the laugh you can get out of watching 4-6 druid pets trying their hardest to do tidbits of damage (it's really funny seeing the druid pet swarm!), the AA prolly isn't worth it for it's cost =/

I thought there was a patch a bit back that made pets immune to AE's...could be wrong though

This aa pet seems to resist many of the AEs that I have encountered when using him, particularly in Anguish. I have not been able to get a list of what does and does not hit him, but for the most part, he runs full duration on the boss, cept for Ture(depends on timing).

The AA cost on this is a bit of a kick in the pants, similar to how nature's boon was initially setup :/. You get the first 30 seconds for 3 aa, then have to pay 6aa for the next 15 seconds and presumably 9aa for the final 15 seconds? Why does SoE still design AA that give dimishing returns for MORE cost? Thought the GoD AA would have taught them that that wasn't the best of designs....(yeah, there were some AAs before GoD that were like that, but, GoD was the one so bad that many things about it had people quit'ing en masse.)

what i learned from a mage friend is, that summonded pets share the resists of their owner as long as they have no better resists, so if you resist an AE regulary your pet will do also :)

Aldier
10-12-2005, 11:47 AM
I do not resist those AEs in Anguish regularly. The closest I come to "resisting" the AE I see booboo fighting straight through is when the stun resist on my gear saves me, not my resists. Also, he only usually lives long enough for 1 at most 2 AEs.

Micahle

on AE encounters i usually try to time it so i put him out just after the AE that's most likely to kill him, gives him the full recycle time before he poofs

Does anyone know if you can cast the Nature's Guardian while having a DC pet? I'm wondering if we can use the extra DPS while agro kiting in PoV or HoH?

Aldier
10-21-2005, 12:02 PM
You can summon normal booboo and then use this aa so I would assume its the same as all other "swarm" pets and do not count as your 1 pet.

I am also lvl 65 with 70+ AA, atleast 12 in the Archtype. I also cannot train this Nature's Guardian AA. Has anyone figured out why this is yet??

You probably need lvl 69+ for it.
