Okay, I still need to choose a skill to specialize in, and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Will it make a huge difference? I solo and farm a lot, so I was thinking about putting it into Conjuration. Anyone have a different suggestion before I do so?

Alteration is the one that most druids I know of go with, it helps your heals, your buffs and root - all things you don't want to fizzle or run oom on.

Some druids choose Evocation instead. That helps nukes, but I don't recommend it personally because I find that when I am nuking I am not as desperate for mana.

Conjuration isn't something I would go with as a druid.

Alteration. Was my second thought, but wasn't sure how helpful the specialization skills would actually be.

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely get it into alteration pronto. =)

I went with Evocation as my first specialization, and Alteration as my secondary forte.

I will do it the other way around .. Alteration first , then Evocation

i went with evoc at first cause i basically solo'd to 58. then when i got my first real heal and started grouping i changed it to alteration. the quest to change is easy and rebuilding the skill is easy. may look to do that if you solo alot. eventually i will do secondary forte and do evoc again then.

Mine is Alteration and second forte Evocation. I do a lot of healing.

Swapped mine from evocation to alteration then did evocation as secondary forte.

Alteration for a grouping druid is the best way to go, when root rotting anyway you are always medding as you go, and the extra savings can be made up for in how you root rot. Buffs and healing are typically the biggest mana hogs for druids anyway.

Only if you're healing while in the group. In most of my groups, I'm doing much more nuking than healing. But then, my groups have clerics.

Mine was Conjuration until OoW came out and I got Chlorotrope because I always Rot kited my stuff if I soloed (infact I never learned to Quad until I was lvl 65 :OX ). Once I got 'Trope, it had to change cause that spell sucked mana outta me real fast. Of course, being in a new guild since then and having a lot better gear I can use ACB pretty much all the time now w/ Spec. Alt.

most people will go with alteration and secondary forte evocation 2nd most popular is evocation and secondary forte alteration.

i went with, alteration, and secondary forte, evocation, when secondary forte came out, orginally i specalised in evocation, but druids heal lots these days and the heals cost more then the nukes, if ya just gonna solo id probly recomment evocation.

I went with evoc then alt, I soloed alot while leveling and found that best. Nowadays I raid alot more and group heaps more and I often find myself pushed for mana when called upon to heal. Have those of you who switched from evoc to alt found it made a big diff? I am thinking about switching to alt and getting evoc as secondry but am not sure it will be worth it?

Well, it's pretty easy to figure it out...

Primary spec (skill 200) saves 11% on all spells cast in that skill. Lower spec (skill 50) saves 3% on all spells in that skill. I have no idea what the savings is for "Secondary Forte" (skill 100), but it must be somewhere in between. If your current Alt spec skill is 50, making it 200 will save you 8% of the base cost of your heals.

"Secondary Forte" (skill 100) saves you 6% on all spells in that spec.

I'm evo spec'd as I quad / nuke / patch heal more than I am main healer.

My main spec is Evoc, but I am in a raiding guild and I do heal quite a bit, but I also nuke/dot alot also. I like the bigger "bang" sort of speak! :bubbrubb2

But I think eventually I will put in for my secondary forte as Alt spec!

I did Alteration and never considered anything else.

Evocation as a secondary.

You can get Affliction Effeciency for reduced mana on dots, so I never considered conguration as a viable specialization.

When it was time for me to specialize, I just let my own casting patterns determine which one I did. I ended up with alteration by a long shot as it reached max far before the others did. Ports are also alteration so that might have been why, as this was back in the day when druids and wizards were the only taxi around hehe.

I picked alteration cause I grouped a lot and I've never thought about switching since, primarily due to druid heals being highly mana intensive. Lvl 70 nuke is cheap compared lvl 70 heal!
