Anyone feeling generous and willing to say what factions things are on, and what summons?

I don't have much info to add about this zone unfortunately. The ony thing I can think of that might be useful is that this zone is much bigger than some might originally think. Under one of the rivers there is a tunnel that leads to another area.

The atlas VI sells describes 3 distinct areas in Plane of Storms. Each area has its own population of giants, and a distinct topography. It is implied that there are 3 giant factions that are opposed to each other.

First area is the desert in the north. Next a forest with a giant village or something that is in the treetops. Third a lakeshore community and the largest giant settlement, in an area rife with shipwrecks.

Looking forward to seeing it all but not in yet so don't know first hand.

Don't know about summoning but the treant things as you zone in are imune to snare/root and run at sow+ speed. Oh and they hit damn hard.

There are a few things that don't summon, at least. The hurricane/typhoon loroks in the second section don't. They have a rather substantial amount of hp, hit like trucks (600ish), and seem to be sub-61 (conned blue to 61) however. The frogs at the shipwreck cave don't summon either, but good luck splitting those from the other mobs.

Other than that, everything I've tried summons. Not an easy zone.

EQ Druids just posted a section on the trials needed to get into the Plane of Storms. See:

Frogs in cave are on Lost Civilization of LoK or something. Killing giants in the first area lowers a pair of giant factions but raises Asker the Lost.

General rule is if it's KoS, kill it. If it's not KoS and it cons blue, kill it anyway.

Ehm, if Karana is allied to Tunare, why the heck are the things in his plane attacking us???
And are these same things attacking Karana worshippers?

Now you really know your God doesn't listen to you or care less what happens to you. /shrug

Ciao for now!

Somewhere in the prologue, Verant said something about "Help Karana regain control of the Plane of Storms." The mobs attack Karana worshippers because Karana doesn't control them.

From what I've read in the Maps of Myrist, the storms and ligtning and violent animals occur when Karana is sleeping. Apparently he's sleeping at the time of the planes for some reason and that is why all of the violent activity in the Plane of Storms.

Very much dont do this you could be messing up ways of getting into higher planes if you randomly go out and kill every non kos mob which cons blue.

You did want to go to higher planes right?

If he's sleeping, does that mean it stopped perpetually raining in the Karanas?

When asked why it rained all the time in his namesake's plains, Karana said he sheds a tear every time one of his rangers dies.

It rains a lot . . . but not THAT much!

Well, I must say I'm dissapointed with PoS (it lives up to its less than friendly acronym) after the work that goes into getting there.

Tunare worshippers get a nice happy plane that they can walk into freely, chat with their god (assuming she hadn't been killed by a raid force) and get interesting quests to do with some nice rewards.

Two years later Karana worshippers get their gods plane. To gain access they need to be part of a group than can output Verant's idea of "enough" damage per second. And when we do get there, we find the Big K's not around, and we need to be careful or we'll get killed - wtf? We're the favoured followers of our deity and we have to fear for our life in his home - our eventual resting place after death?

Gimme a break. How can we expect you to finish Caster Balancing when there isn't even any concept of Deity Balancing - Tunare followers get quests, screw the rest of you.

PoS is very nice actually, huge zone and some very nice exp spots as well as some hedge maze like quest and some other crap.

Go to town in this zone.

Everything that you will exp upon gives no bad faction hits at all. Just don't kill the stationary ("good guy") NPCs at the settlement near the zone-in.

You can wander the zone killing all forms of wild-life, treants/ents, giants and frogs without jeopardising any useful faction whatsoever.

This zone is druid heaven. Charm a 600-hitting frog, keep it's Spirit Savage, and have a lot of fun. It's a faction-free druid playground. ^_^

Note: the warrior-class NPCs in some areas of the zone will summon, but you'll learn which these are sooner rather than later. As a part of a group in the Plane of Storms, druids are nearly unrivalled. A pet outputting 550+ dps is a group in itself. ^_))

Again, don't worry about faction: the only bad faction hit would occur if you killed one of the settlement near the zone. Wandering creatures, giants, and everything else in the zone are all fair game.

Karana is imprisoned within his Bastion, held by the tribes of giants. Your task, should you decide to accept it, is to rescue him!

Karana is about three times the height of weedy old Tunare - don't be too unhappy. ^_^

They just upped the experience there this morning (~7:00am EST) in order to match the other tier-2 planes.

Yeah!!!
